Street Crew Unit executes pair of search warrants on Porter Avenue

May 1, 2026 - City of Prince George, British Columbia

From: Prince George RCMP

File #2026-12100

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit executed a pair of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants at two residences on the 1300-block of Porter Avenue.

The North District Emergency Response

Team attended the location with two Tactical Armoured Vehicles to assist with safely entering the residences, as the risk to police officers during this operation was determined to be high.

“Distraction devices were utilized to assist in emptying the residences of their occupants, which did gain the attention of

neighbours in the surrounding homes. However, this is a standard procedure in this type of scenario, and one that ensures the safety of those in the home and attending police,” states Corporal Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer with Prince George RCMP.

Once in the home, investigators located approximately $500 in cash, one prohibited firearm and several ounces of suspected illicit drugs, which were all seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

Two people, who are known to police, were arrested and subsequently released pending laboratory analysis of the substances seized and future charge approval by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

This investigation remains ongoing.
