INSTRUCTIONS
Please be respectful to everyone and share the space accordingly.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Throw in the pasta and cook according to package directions. Reserve at least 1 cup of pasta water and then drain. In a saucepan, add the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and tomato paste and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes. The tomato paste will darken in color from a bright red to reddish brown. This process removes acidity from the tomato paste. Add heavy cream and mix until incorporated. Simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the red pepper flakes, dried basil, salt, and black pepper to taste. Mix again. Add the grated parmesan, butter, and 1/2 a cup pasta water. Mix until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If you think it needs more pasta water, you can add but 1/2 a cup is perfect for me. Toss in the cooked pasta and mix to coat evenly. A Message from the Smithers Snowmobile Association All the shelter cabins that are managed by the Smithers Snowmobile Association were originally constructed to be enjoyed by you, and intended to serve as an emergency shelter if ever needed. The shelters that you use exist thanks to the dedication of volunteer snowmobilers and outdoor enthusiasts who fundraised and invested blood, sweat and tears to see them be constructed. The responsibility to keep these cabins maintained doesn’t just fall on the dedicated volunteers, but also on every snowmobiler and outdoor enthusiast who walks into them. This is a friendly reminder to please respect the cabins. We are a For The People Club! We’re also a non-profit organization that is 100% volunteer based. Please do this: •
Pack it in, pack it out– and by “it” - yes, we mean everything. Please leave the cabin cleaner than you found it!
•
Close the door every single time. This stops rodents and birds from getting in and prevents the doors from icing up.
•
Sweep up after yourself. Gear, boots and firewood create dirt, debris and dust.
•
Use the garbage cans provided.
Please don't do this: •
Leave food and drink behind.
•
Let the garbage over flow - extra garbage bags are provided at all of the cabins, please use them and let us know if you notice that it needs to be picked up.
•
Vandalize the cabins or the equipment within them – we work diligently to keep our structures and equipment in good condition so you can use them! Vandalizing safety/fire/rescue equipment has serious impacts for someone else who may need to use it when an actual emergency arises.
