'Hope Meets Action: Echoes Through the Black Continuum'
A Travelling Exhibition at the Heritage Gallery in Burns Lake
A travelling exhibition is on display at the Heritage Gallery until February 18th, 2026. The exhibition is called “Hope Meets Action: Echoes Through the Black Continuum", and is presented by the Royal BC Museum in partnership with the BC Black History Awareness Society.
The Heritage Gallery is located at 540 Highway 16 West, next to the Visitor Information Centre and across from CNC. Heritage Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, subject to the schedule of the Visitor Information Centre. There is no admission charge for this event, and the exhibition is made possible with the assistance of Heritage Canada’s Museum Assistance Program.
“BC’s history is as varied as its people,” says Lakes District Museum curator Michael RiisChristianson. “The exhibition tells in part the important stories and contributions of Black British Columbians, and we’re proud to host it in the Heritage Gallery.”
