The Black Canni, founded by Maurissa Stone, is a movement dedicated to honoring legacy cannabis operators and creating pathways for Black communities most harmed by the war on drugs. Rooted in healing, equity, and cultural sustainability, The Black Canni uplifts community voices through storytelling, policy advocacy, and education on cannabis’ spiritual, medicinal, and economic value.
Our two-day convening weaves together restorative justice, healing, and innovation. Day One centers legacy operators with storytelling, reparative justice dialogues, and strategies for entry into regulated and ancillary markets. Day Two focuses on Indigenous practices and an overview of the endocannabinoid system, with immersive experiences such as breath work and a tea ceremony, grounding participants in healing and community connection.
