CPAR II: Identity, Power & Lived Experience is a hands-on training that equips Baltimore’s Promise C-RAC to practice community-led research with integrity and impact. Participants deepen awareness of positionality and social location, learn BRAVE space norms for ethical storywork, and apply liberatory praxis—power-sharing, reflexivity, trauma-informed care, and data equity—to every phase of inquiry. Through story-sharing circles, photovoice, “hood hikes,” and sensemaking jams, teams co-design tools, co-interpret findings, and translate community wisdom into policy, budget, and practice changes. Grounded in land acknowledgment and the city’s histories (Black Butterfly, redlining, renewal), the session centers narrative power and cultural sustainability, moving from data extraction to community ownership (tiered consent, stewardship, takedown rights).
