CELEBRATING 40 YEARS

A LOOK BACK AND A LOOK AHEAD

REFLECTING ON 40 YEARS

As we reflect on the significance of our medium-sized company reaching the 40-year milestone, countless thoughts and memories come to mind. While this achievement is meaningful to us, we understand that it might not be particularly striking to others This raises an important question: When it’s your turn to reflect on your own longevity, how will you feel about the mark you've made?

One might wonder whether our company has made a real impact on the world. Some could argue that the smiles and enjoyment created by the majority of what we sell are of significant value. But perhaps even more so is the financial impact we’ve had on people’s lives and well-being By simply driving commerce, we’ve supported families, funded college educations, helped retailers make better decisions, and served as a catalyst for many successful product launches alongside our manufacturer partners. These contributions, along with many others, are the reasons each of us at The Link feels accomplished.

It seems like just yesterday when we first decided to send money to a community near our affected retailers for natural disaster relief Today, it has become nearly an annual occurrence that we budget fo It’s also hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since The Link launch its Every Order, Every Time campaign, where we pledged to allocate 10 cents to charity for every order our Territory Managers placed. Although that giving method has since evolved, we estimate that in the next 24 months, we will surpass the million-dollar mark in lifetim giving. We know the need for support will persist, and we plan to continue giving at this pace for as long as we can.

No one said it would be easy, and that’s true. But there’s also a saying that if you choose to do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. That’s true too. We love what we do, even when it’s challenging. We hope that’s evident, and we hope you know just how much we appreciate you being a part of this company’s journey

The hand-crafted/handpainted miniature cottages were a top 10 vendor for thousands of retailers and helped launch The Link to new heights. Beanie Babies & The Link Beanie Babies & The Link

Ty’s Beanie Babies became the largest brand to ever cross over from the gift industry to a worldwide audience with tens of millions of consumers buying them in recordbreaking fashion. With sales in the BILLIONS, nearly everyone on the planet knows the brand.

In the late 90’s The Link represented a company, Cavanagh International, that produced licensed Harley Davidson and Coca-Cola Beanie products. Almost every Beanie Baby retailer bought this brand and this vendor catapulted The Link in volume while also greatly expanding the customer base.

FUN FACT

Back in the late 90s, a commission dispute involving a current Link Territory Manager, Kirsten Myers, and a Ty employee led to a jury trial in North Carolina. Our very own CMO/CPO Brad Rosenkampff even served as an expert witness! It's just another example of how deeply The Link was woven into the Beanie Baby phenomenon.
