NeartheArchbishop’sPalaceintheoldtown,this18th-century mansionisthefinestsurvivingexampleofurbanarchitecturefrom thelateOttomanperiod.Builtin1793fromlocalsandstone,itwas hometoHadjigeorgakisKornesios,DragomanofCyprusforthree decades.ItsdistinctiveΔ-shapedlayoutenclosesacourtyardwith afountainandbathhouse,whileornatewoodceilingsandpainted detailsrevealtheeleganceofabygoneera.NowtheEthnological MuseumofCyprus,itstandsasaproudEuropaNostraawardwinnerforitsrestoration.

LocatedinNicosia’shistoriccenter,PanagiaFaneromeniisthelargestOrthodoxchurchwithinthe VenetianWalls.Builtin1872,itfollowstheformofathree-aisledbasilicawithadomethatreflects subtleWesterninfluences.
