Rev. Gregory D. Johnson, Host Pastor

The sun rose on the life of Dariyn Eli Johnson on June 16, 1998. In Denver, Colorado, at University Hospital.
Born to Rachele Davis and raised with David Pepper. A lifelong resident of the city that loved him. Dariyn left a deep and lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Dariyn, the baby of six children. Donald Davis, Eric Davis, Caloni Davis, Joseph Pepper, and Blyss Johnson, his Twin.

As a child, Dariyn had complications when born, but his health significantly improved by the age of two, and continued to improve. Educated in Pueblo at a youth center. He successfully graduated on June 12, 2020. He worked many jobs, then became gainfully employed by "Kakcy Tru Blue" as a contractor who did landscaping. Many of his friends were very supportive and blessed him by providing tools. He was a motivated and hardworking young man who knew what he was doing and aspired to become a Millionaire!
Dariyn led with strength, love, ambition, and loyalty. He carried a big heart and a protective spirit! Always putting his siblings and family first. One of his joyous moments was becoming a father! Sadly, his first son, Nicholas Johnson, passed at birth on June 2, 2022, and on June 6, 2024, his beautiful daughter NeyElle Johnson was born. Through contagious laughter, or seeing his smile, for those closest to him, everyone, including Ronda Debers, was deeply valued, respected, and loved. His absence leaves an empty space that can never be filled or replaced.
Dariyn had a passion for cutting hair. He would cut hair in the garage for many years, for some of his most faithful and favorite clients. As a big teddy bear. Dariyn was funny, smart, and always a protector. He spent a lot of time with his brothers, telling jokes, having barbecues, and playing football. He looked up to his cousin David Andrews, Joseph, and Kakcy. Although considered bad at times (like sending pictures of an atm on the back of his truck) he had an infectious smile that would light up any room and keep everyone laughing. More importantly, Dariyn would give the shirt off of his back and stand up for what’s right.
May his legacy live on through the lives he touched and lessons imparted. Loved from a young age until now. May his memories bring comfort to those who knew him best, and may his spirit remain a guiding light for all who carry him in their hearts.
"I love you, Dariyn, I will miss you for the rest of my life! You had such a strength about you that inspired me. You were cooler than any words I could ever use to describe" - Caloni Davis

We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.

I'm a man, I've stumbled and bled. Carried my battles, inside my head. Five years, the system tried. I came home, still breathing, and alive.
I've searched for peace, would smoke and drink. In quick cash schemes, it made me sink. The highs were fast, and the lows ran deep. I burned my bridges, lost much sleep.
Still - I loved, fought, and truly tried. Held my daughter, swallowed my pride. A Brother, a Father, flawed but true. I gave the World, the Best I knew.
Don't judge me by, the way I fell.
But by the stories, my people tell. Through laughter, the heart, and strength I gave. A soul too stubborn, to stay enslaved.

I'm a man, not perfect, but real. A Spirit, too heavy, this World couldn't heal Now, I rest where the pain is gone. And through your love - My name lives on!
