years. No announcement has been made yet to confirm if Netanyahu will lead Likud’s election campaign. Prime Minister Yair Lapid sent a message to Netanyahu for a “speedy and complete recovery”. Netanyahu’s office issued a statement last night that Netanyahu “felt unwell while praying at synagogue”. Tests came back normal but would undergo further examination “to remove any doubt”. A later report from Shaarei Tzedek said Netanyahu would stay in hospital overnight for observation. Aside from his responsibilities with the upcoming election, Netanyahu is on trial for bribery, fraud and breach of trust. Earlier this week Netanyahu heavily criticised Lapid for backing a US-brokered deal establishing a maritime border with Lebanon.
Tehillim for esteemed rabbis
Harav Moshe Sternbuch and HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Abdani
The Badatz Beth Din called for Tehillim for Harav Moshe Sternbuch on Erev Yom Kippur. The rabbinic leader is receiving 24-hour medical treatment at home. A letter requested everyone work to “tear open shaarei shamayim to achieve the gaon’s refuah sheleima”. HaRav Sternbuch was hospitalised in June where he had a pacemaker successfully fitted. Tehillim are also being said for HaGaon Rabbi Shimon Abdani of the Shas Council of Torah Sages who is being treated for pneumonia at ‘Ma’eini HaYeshua’ hospital in Bnei Barak. Rabbi Abdani, 95, was hospitalised last Shabbat night. He did not stay at Purat Yosef Yeshiva in the Old City for Yom Kippur for the first time.
