President Issac Herzog has met with Yesh Atid and National Unity Party officials on behalf of the coalition to broker a resolution on judicial reform. He has also held meetings with representatives of other Knesset factions including the Labor Party, Hadash-Ta’al and United Arab List to avoid an escalation in the war of words and mass protests. It is hoped common ground for further discussion can be found. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu halted the Judicial Reform Bill after tens of thousands of protestors forced him to act on Monday night. Herzog expressed cautious optimism for a resolution on Tuesday evening. “I hope that yesterday (Monday) made us change our path as a society and as a state, and that the opportunity created by pausing the legislation will bring with it an honest, serious, and responsible discussion,” he said at a speech at
