Pope Francis has vowed to help bring back two Israeli civilians held prisoner by Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the bodies of two IDF soldiers. The Pope held an emotional 45 minute meeting with the Goldin, Shaul, Mengistu and El Said families at the Vatican yesterday. The bodies of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Lt. Oron Shaul, and Israelis Avera Mengistu and Hisham alSayed, have been held captive by the terror group for a number of years. The Pope addressed each of the four families expressing “deep solidarity with them”, a statement by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who initiated the meeting with the Ministry of Defence, noted. “The Pope promised to work with governments and key religious leaders, seeking their return,” the statement added.
