National beauty retailer opens N. Shore location on Glen Cove Rd. BY A M E L I A C A M U R AT I The first store in the new Crossroads Plaza in Greenvale opened over the weekend to a crowd of customers eagerly awaiting the arrival of the largest beauty retailer in the country. Ulta Beauty at 25 Glen Cove Road held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning, filling the parking lot of the new shopping center. Inside the 5,000-square-foot store, customers were greeted with opening day coupons, salon discounts and exclusive discounts on eye shadow palettes, lipsticks and more. Jillian SantaMaria, the general manager, said the store is smaller than most Ulta Beauty shops, which typically are about 10,000 square feet, but still offers a laundry list of makeup, skin care, fragrances and hair care products as well as top-of-the-line blow dryers,

curling irons, brushes and more. “It brings all things beauty to one place,” SantaMaria said. “This is the first location on the North Shore, and customers were so happy to hear we’re finally opening.” Ulta Beauty is known for its high-end products, but SantaMaria said some forget the store offers more than shopping. Ulta Beauty also houses a fullservice salon and Benefit brow bar. The salon has a number of stylists for haircuts, hair coloring, highlights, blowouts and deep conditioning treatments alongside a licensed esthetician for facials and microderm abrasions, SantaMaria said. The brow bar, sponsored by Benefit Cosmetics, performs any facial waxing and recently added brow tinting to its services menu. “We strive to give the best service you can get,” SantaMaria said. “I love that we make people feel beautiful and confident.” Continued on Page 69
