Welcome to Starlight and to the delightfully strange, wildly funny, and wonderfully unforgettable world of Beetlejuice. As we close the curtain on our 2026 Broadway season, I can’t imagine a more fitting finale than a show that celebrates the unexpected. Beetlejuice is big, bold, a little weird — and a great reminder of what live theatre does best: surprise us, make us laugh, spark our imaginations, and bring thousands of people together for an experience we can only have in the same place, at the same time. And as one season comes to a close, we’re already looking ahead to a pretty remarkable next chapter for Starlight. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of this community and the success of our Uniquely KC campaign, our campus will look a little different when you return in 2027. Construction is underway on our new canopy — one of the most significant improvements in Starlight’s history. It will make gathering here more comfortable while preserving something that has always made Starlight special: experiencing live performance outdoors, beneath the Kansas City sky. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make both this season and what comes next possible — our artists, musicians, crews, staff, Ambassadors, donors, partners, and, of course, all of you who continue to show up and make Starlight part of your lives. Whether Beetlejuice is your first show with us this summer or you’ve been here all season, thank you. There is nothing inevitable about a place like Starlight continuing to thrive for generation after generation. It happens because a community believes it matters — and continues to gather here. Dreaming of working in live entertainment? Starlight’s Bob Rohlf Internships Program is your backstage pass. Spend your summer learning from theatre pros, gaining hands-on experience, and actually making an impact–all while getting paid. From Broadway shows and concerts to community events, you’ll be part of the magic that happens on (and off) the stage every day. The internship program is named in honor of former Starlight Theatre President and Executive Producer Bob Rohlf. While Starlight has offered summer internships since 1984, a gift and directive from longtime Starlight benefactors Don and Adele Hall named the program in Bob’s honor upon his retirement in 2008. STARLIGHT AND DISNEY ARE BRINGING THE MAGIC OF THE DISNEY MUSICALS IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM TO KANSAS CITY.
The goals of this program are to: Create sustainable musical theatre programs in under-resourced public elementary schools Provide school faculty with training and tools Develop awareness and appreciation of the arts in the school Develop a strong community of students, parents, faculty, staff, and neighbors Expose students and faculty to the wide spectrum of skills that develop when producing musical theatre
Starlight will select up to five KC metro elementary schools to participate during the ‘26-’27 school year. Selected schools receive free performance materials and in-school support from Starlight teaching artists.

Since 2006, Starlight has proudly awarded Vincent Legacy Scholarships to middle school students throughout metropolitan Kansas City. Established with a generous contribution from longtime Starlight supporters Greg and Rebecca Reid, the scholarships provide BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) youth with funds to pursue professional training and experience the life-expanding possibilities of the performing arts. To qualify, students in grades six, seven and eight must display talent and passion for the performing arts, have a strong interest in community service, and audition for the selection committee at Starlight.

Established in 2003, Starlight’s Blue Star Awards is one of the largest and most admired high school musical theatre awards programs in the nation. It annually recognizes achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students. High schools in the metropolitan area and surrounding communities can participate in the Blue Star Awards program. Each year the program serves more than 5,000 area students who contribute either on the stage or behind the scenes to their schools’ musical theatre productions.

ACCESSIBILITY Parking Accessible parking is available in the Yellow, Red, and Orange Lots located east and southeast of the theatre. Guests displaying state-issued disabled license plates or placards will be directed to the accessible parking area as space allows. Mobile Assistance Shuttles Complimentary curb-to-curb shuttle service is provided to guests with mobility challenges. Starlight operates multi-passenger shuttles that have designated stops in Yellow, Red, Orange and Purple parking lots. Shuttles provide needed transport to and from Gate 8. Wheelchair Assistance Starlight personnel are available to provide wheelchair assistance to a seat location prior to the show and back to the gate’s drop off point after the show. Please contact a member of our Guest Assist staff if you need assistance. Restrooms There are wheelchair-accessible restrooms throughout the venue. A companion restroom as well as universal changing tables are located in the northeast restrooms closest to Gate 6. Assistive Listening Services Assistive listening devices are free at every performance. To obtain a device, visit the South Guest Information Kiosk located across from Ovation. Sunday night Broadway performances are interpreted for deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons. To use your personal device, connect to the Listen Everywhere app with headset or earbuds and connect to the Starlight Listen Everywhere Wi-Fi. Sight-Impaired Services Audio Description (AD) is provided by the Audio-Reader Network during the Saturday night Broadway performances. Guests may obtain an audiodescription device at the Audio-Reader Network table behind Terrace 2. Sensory Kits In partnership with Variety KC, Starlight offers sensory kits for guests in need of noise-canceling headsets, weighted blankets, and fidget toys. Sensory kits may be checked out a Guest Information Kiosk.
GUEST INFORMATION Weather Policy All Starlight events are held rain or shine, with the exception of severe/ dangerous weather. Updates are posted on kcstarlight.com/alerts and in the KC Starlight app. Security Screening Policy To ensure the safety of all guests, Starlight reserves the right to inspect persons, parcels or clothing capable of concealing or carrying prohibited items into the venue in situations where health, safety or well-being may be compromised. All guests are subject to an inspection of bags and parcels, including pat-downs and use of magnetic wands. Review the full list of prohibited items on the Plan Your Visit page at kcstarlight.com Photography Use of professional photography equipment or recording devices (video, audio, or other medium) is prohibited to use during a performance without prior written consent. By attending a Starlight performance, guests give their consent to be photographed or recorded by talent, venue, or their contractors. Smoking Areas Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the venue except the North Lawn and east of the Encore Deck. This policy applies to cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, pipes and any other smoking device. Marijuana and all cannabis products are prohibited.
