From the Editor We just recently completed our very first West Coast Publishers Conference here in our OC Office. A couple of the themes that consistently come up during the two-day event were centered on the idea of “Marginal Adjustments” done consistently over time, will dramatically improve results. The other being something I discuss many times with my team, “Raise Your Standards.”

1. Get a good nutritionist. I took my whole family to see DR G. With the correct eating plan for each of our metabolic structure we have seen a 1% body fat reduction every week to 10 days. It’s so easy when you know exactly what you must eat for each meal every day and the results blow you away. Even my 13 year old loves to be on Dr. G’s plan and has seen impressive results. If she can do it at her age, anyone can!
It’s so true, most of us dislike change because it’s so difficult for us to create new habits to reinforce a change and make it worthwhile. Look at your life right now. It’s a reflection of your current “standards”. The body you have, the job you go to each day, or the relationships you have with others.
2. Drink more water. Your body burns reserves to create energy when our bodies are properly hydrated. This metabolic function battles or slows down considerably when the body is dealing with the threat of dehydration. I drink 12 x 500 ml a day. Get the best bed you can afford. Ever since we got a harder mattress, both of us have less back pain, and less aches and pains. We sleep better, so we can function at our full potential the next day. Leave pets out of the bedroom at night if they disturb your sleep. Poor quality sleep will wreck your health. 6. Don’t skip meals, especially breakfast. So many people I talk to only have coffee to start their day. If you do drink coffee have organic coffee so the mold on the bean does not affect your gut. 7. Read for 10 minutes a day. Just 10 minutes a day will help you read one book a month. Just start with one word, then one sentence, one paragraph, one chapter and soon you will be off to the races
8. Have an attitude of gratitude. Before I end each day, I go through everything I am grateful for that day. It’s eye opening to see how many good things happen to you every day. Your happiness level will increase dramatically. 9. Give yourself a mantra. Mine right now is “Life is happening for you not against you.” Sure, things don’t always go as one intended, but many times these things we perceive to be bad, end up helping us grow and we become stronger. Try some of these tips over the next few weeks. Let me know how it goes. I have plenty more. It will help “Raise your Standard” and give you confidence to try other things when you see the results.
