Are You on Track With Your Goals?
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” — Aristotle
As we move toward the end of the first quarter of the year, it’s a good time to ask yourself: “Am I on track with my business and personal goals?”
For some, that question can be uncomfortable—especially if you feel behind. But don’t worry, you’re not alone. According to U.S. News & Worl Report, approximately 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by the second week of February.
So what can you do to get back on track?
Start with your mindset.
Your body, your business, and your habits won’t change unless your mind is committed. As Steve Maraboli said, “Once your mindset changes, everything on the outside will change along with it.”
Change your mindset and focus on discipline. Start small. Real progress often comes from doing one small thing consistently. Here are a few strategies that have helped me become more balanced:
— Improve Eating Habits
Easier said than done. I started by committing to eating raw food for 21 days. I still enjoy good food and the occasional drink, but I aim to eat clean about 95% of the time. It took commitment, but after those first 21 days, my energy levels improved dramatically.
— Exercise With a Goal
Working out without direction can feel discouraging. Setting measurable goals makes a big difference. For example, I love cycling, so I began setting goals to improve my times and participate in races. Having a purpose brought the passion back.
— Get Quality Sleep
Sleep is essential for energy and focus. Many of us don’t get enough rest, and the quality of sleep matters just as much as the hours. Better sleep leads to better energy and better performance in every area of life.
