Welcome to the BrickBox Theater and to the first production of the 2026/2027 THT Rep Season, Romeo + Juliet. I am so glad you are here. We begin this new season with a story that has captivated audiences for centuries, brought to life with fresh energy and perspective by Artistic Director Livy Scanlon. Together, we journey deep into Verona, where violent feuds run rampant and danger lurks around every corner. Following Romeo + Juliet and our annual Poe Double Header this fall, there's still so much more to come on the BrickBox stage. This winter, a tortured chanteuse from East Berlin lands in Worcester with her band in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Next spring, Hamlet gets a modern remix at a Southern backyard BBQ in the Pulitzer Prize-winning Fat Ham. THT Rep brings world-class productions to New England, and I am honored to experience this season with you. You will not be disappointed. Friends, Welcome to THT Rep and the Jean McDonough Arts Center. I’m delighted to kick off our 26/27 season with Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, featuring a superlative cast and creative team sourced from Worcester, New York, Boston, Providence, Maine, LA and DC. Here in Verona, life and death intermingle; love grows where hate has taken root; danger, desire, decay, and renewal entwine. Ultimately, Romeo + Juliet asks whether promise can spring from ruin. Can we rebuild that we have destroyed? In dying, do Romeo and Juliet finally break the very cycle that kills them? Shakespeare gives us no answer, only the asking — and a community gathered in the dark to consider it. Thank you for being that community.

THT Rep Series Feel your story October 28-November 1, 2026 A SPOOKY SEASON TRADITION RETURNS TO THE BRICKBOX Dark and darkly comic, this 60-minute solo show is staged as a séance, inviting audiences to conjure two of Edgar Allan Poe’s most notorious narrators. In “The Tell-Tale Heart,” an irrational obsession drives a nervous caregiver to madness. In “The Cask of Amontillado,” the aggrieved Montresor lures his rival Fortunato to an untimely fate.

JOHN BASIULIS (Peter) is making his THT Rep debut. His previous work includes productions with Quintessence Theatre Group, the Walnut Street Theatre, the People’s Light and Theatre Company, the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Commonweal Theatre, the American Shakespeare Center, the Sierra Repertory Theatre, the Marin Shakespeare Company, the Southwest Shakespeare Company, the Springer Opera House, and the original Theatre in the Square. He trained in England at the Guildford School of Acting. ALYSSA BEAULIEU (Juliet) is incredibly honored to be playing one of her dream roles at The Hanover Theatre Rep. Originally from Londonderry, New Hampshire, she recently graduated with her BFA Musical Theatre degree from Syracuse University. She has just returned from performing in the 89th season of The Lost Colony outdoor drama in the Outer Banks, NC. Favorite credits: Push, Pull, Together, Apart (Syracuse Stage), Beauty and the Beast (Cortland Repertory Theatre), Freaky Friday (Prescott Park Arts Festival), and Taming of the Shrew: Abridged (Shakespeare’s Globe Abroad Semester). She would like to thank the Hanover Theatre team for this opportunity and her family, friends, and partner, Tim, for always encouraging her to love her craft. @alyssa.beaulieu.27 DANY DAKHLALLAH (Friar John, u/s Mercutio, Romeo) is a Bulgarian-Syrian actor and director from the middle of Missouri. BFA Boston University School of Theatre. Past credits include; Bottom in Midsummer (BU), Hotspur in Henry IV (Prague Shakespeare), John Hale in The Crucible (BU), and Don John in Much Ado (Prague Shakespeare). This year, Dany performed their character clown show, Mean & Meaner, and directed an adaptation of Sophocles’ Antigone, in Boston. In August, Dany directed HENRY (Fresh Ink semi-finalist), a new work by Nadia Hopkins which premiered in the Lower East Side. Dany is thrilled to be making their debut with The Hanover Theatre Rep. danydakhlallah.com @danydakhlallah KYLE HARGROVE (Ensemble) is honored to be in his fifth performance with The Hanover Theatre Rep. His most recent past performances include Georges in La Cage Aux Folles with WCLOC Theater Company, as well as Waltpaper in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Sextant in Much Ado About Nothing, both at the Jean McDonough Arts Center. When he is not acting, he is also writing as a member of the Worcester Writers Collective. ALAN KUANG (Balthasar) is an actor and dancer born, raised, and based in Boston MA. A recent graduate of Boston University’s College of Fine Arts, he earned a BFA in acting and dance. He is a member of Boston’s legendary Floorlords Crew, teaching, performing, and competing all across the U.S., including Europe and Asia. His latest credits are dancing for ASAP ROCKY’s World Tour - Don’t Be Dumb Tour, playing Puck in Actors Shakespeare Project - A Midsummer Night’s Dream, starring as the lead in director Rachel Solomon’s film - “Taste,” and shooting in a major commercial for Advisor 360 - “Mom’s Piano.” Alan is grateful and thankful for his family’s unconditional love and support. SONNY JAMES LIRA* (Friar Lawrence, Dance Captain) is honored to join The Hanover Theatre Rep. A Los Angeles-based actor and producer, his stage credits include Richard III, Iago in Othello, and Hamlet. He is the founder of Hyperactive Studios, where he has produced numerous films and Shakespeare productions. His work as a choreographer includes serving as a guest choreographer at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. As a dancer, Sonny is a member of Keshet Dance Ensemble and has trained extensively in modern, tap, and ballet. He is deeply passionate about Shakespeare and the enduring tradition of theatre craft, and is incredibly grateful to Livy Scanlon and The Hanover Theatre for the opportunity to be part of this production. @sonnylira AMIE LYTLE (Nurse) is delighted to return for her fourth show with The Hanover Theatre Rep after previously performing in The Crucible, Macbeth, and Julius Caesar. CAMERON MERULLO* (Paris) is so thrilled to be taking part in his first production with The Hanover Theatre Rep! Over the years, he has starred in roles such as Usnavi in In The Heights, Willard in Footloose, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Melchior in Spring Awakening, Harold Hill in The Music Man, Brad in The Rocky Horror Show, Mark in RENT, and many others. Cam graduated from Middlesex Community College with an associate’s degree in acting/theatre, then spent time at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center as part of the National Musical Theatre Institute. CHELSEA KERL (Costume Designer) is pleased to be back at the BrickBox having previously designed The Crucible, Twelfth Night, and Edgar Allen Poe Double Header. Chelsea is a Boston based freelance artist/educator who received her MFA in Costume Design from Boston University. Chelsea is the costume shop manager and costume design professor at Wellesley College; she also teaches at MIT, Brandeis University, and Bridgewater State University. He is an Assistant Professor at the College of the Holy Cross, a proud member of United Scenic Artists 829, and holds an M.F.A. from NYU. bhatiadesign.com SCOTT O’BRIEN (Composer/Sound Designer) has composed and designed theatre and dance for a wide variety of off-Broadway and regional theaters. He was the Resident Composer/Sound Designer for American Globe Theatre (2000-2014), the Chautauqua Theater Company (2006-2009), Adirondack Theatre Festival (20132015) and the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, MN (2019 and 2021 seasons). He has lectured on Sound Design at SUNY-Rockland, Pace University, Fairleigh-Dickinson University, The Duke Ellington School for the Arts and Montclair State University (heading the sound design program there from 2015-2019). He frequently collaborates with NYC-based Actor/Director/Playwright/Dramaturg Melissa Maxwell. His production company Duck & Trout Music is based out of Gardiner, ME. ROBERT ISAACSON (Fight Choreographer) he/him/his is thrilled to have been invited back to The Hanover Theatre Repertory once again! Selected highlights from his 30+ year fight directing career include Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julius Caesar (The Hanover Theatre Repertory), Baskerville, Dial M for Murder, Boeing Boeing (Peterborough Players), Parade, The House of Ramon Iglesia (Moonbox Productions), Urinetown (Queer Artists and Players), Cinderella (Open Door Theater), Macbeth, True West, She Kills Monsters (Merrimack College), Wait Until Dark (The Footlight Club). Robert is also a member of SAG-AFTRA, a Taekwondo black belt, and will talk endlessly about his dogs. ANGELIQUE ARCHER (Intimacy Choreographer) is an intimacy choreographer and theatre practitioner dedicated to creating consent-forward, emotionally safe, and creatively expressive rehearsal spaces. Some of her favorite choreography credits include Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and Julius Caesar with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, and Rabbit Hole, Gruesome Playground Injuries, and Measure for Measure with Xavier University. RITA MOOKERJEE (Choreographer) is a multigenre performer and assistant professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Worcester State University. Her research has been funded by the Fulbright Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. In 2020, she co-founded Honey Literary, an arts nonprofit organization and literary magazine. She is the author of two poetry collections, “False Offering” and “Banana Heart.”
JANE SIEBELS* (Production Stage Manager) returns to THT Rep, where recent shows include Who is Eartha Mae?, Doubt: A Parable, Much Ado About Nothing, The Crucible, The Edgar Allan Poe Double Header, and The Glass Menagerie. Past theaters include The Hanover Theatre for A Christmas Carol, Huntington Theatre, SpeakEasy Stage, Stoneham Theatre, American Stage Festival, Florida Studio Theatre, The Asolo, and the Vineyard Playhouse. Jane is also Co-Chair of the Shrewsbury Cultural Council and, by day, a Children's Librarian at Shrewsbury Public Library. CAROLYN FERRIS** (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Boston based Stage Manager with a degree in Theater and English from The University of Massachusetts Amherst. Recent credits include Gloucester Stage - Dalloway: First Love (PSM), Theatre Workshop of Nantucket - Eureka Day (ASM), and upcoming, The Boston Ballet - The Nutcracker (ASM). PERRI SYLVESTER (Wardrobe Manager) is the wardrobe manager at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory. She is a Worcester based multi-disciplinary artist. She loves teaching costume design classes at the conservatory. In her free time she enjoys designing and making sterling silver jewelry and hanging out with her cat, Saturn. Perri has designed costumes for the Youth Acting Company and the Youth Summer Program here at The Hanover Theatre and Conservatory, as well as assisted and managed wardrobe on the THT Rep shows. She is the wardrobe manager for The Nutcracker and the Youth Ballet Company productions. Featuring explosive athleticism, physical poetry, and sly humor, Trips will transport audiences to infinite realities. That spirit of discovery has been at the heart of Pilobolus since the company first began redefining what dance could look like more than 50 years ago at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. As The Arts Fuse recently wrote, “Pilobolus still moves like no one else... remind[ing] audiences that the body’s greatest feats are rarely accomplished alone." Over the years, Pilobolus has brought its distinctive blend of movement and theatricality to more than 65 countries and appeared on "CBS This Morning," "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert," the "TODAY" Show, MTV’s Video Music Awards, and the CW Network’s "Penn & Teller: Fool Us." The company has also been recognized with many prestigious honors, including a TED Fellowship, a 2012 Grammy® Award nomination, a Primetime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cultural Programming, and several Cannes Lion Awards at the International Festival of Creativity. Today, Pilobolus is based in Connecticut, just two hours south of Worcester, but its work continues to travel far beyond its home base.
