Welcome to the penultimate performance of our 25//26 Broadway Series. We're thrilled to have you here. Every Broadway season needs a comforting classic. A show that's filled with big production numbers, unforgettable melodies, and a story that continues to resonate across generations. Without that, well... "we've got trouble!" This season, that title is Meredith Willson’s Tony Award®-winning musical The Music Man.

At its heart, The Music Man is a celebration of community and the way music brings people together. Whether you're rediscovering it or seeing it for the very first time, I hope it leaves you smiling all the way home.

Looking ahead, the 26/27 Broadway season is truly spectacular and I cannot wait to experience Monty Python’s Spamalot, the critically acclaimed Mexodus, and more with you beginning this October. Before we get there, I hope you’ll join us next month for the internationally acclaimed hit musical Mrs. Doubtfire.

Accessible Seating and ADA Provisions: The Hanover Theatre (THT) is committed to providing access and an enjoyable visit for persons of different abilities. Spaces are reserved for patrons who use wheelchairs and for their ambulatory companions. When purchasing tickets, please be sure to mention if any special accommodations are required, including low vision, hard of hearing, limited mobility, etc.

Assistive Listening Devices: Devices are available. Please inquire at the box office or conceirge desk. These cannot be reserved in advance, but the number of devices available should be sufficient for the usual demand. You will be asked to leave your driver’s license as a deposit.

Box Office Hours of Operation: (in person and by telephone) Regular hours are MondaySaturday, 12 PM - 6 PM. The box office is open limited hours on Sunday performance days. Tickets may be purchased online 24/7 at TheHanoverTheatre.org. By telephone, call the box office at 877.571.7469.

Cameras (Recording Devices): Recording devices are prohibited from use in the theatre, and offenders may be ejected without compensation. All members of the press or media must receive advance authorization from the PR dept. (PR@thehanovertheatre.org) to use cameras or recording devices inside the theatre and must display identification upon arrival.

Cell Phones: Out of respect to the performers and fellow audience members, please silence all cell phones while in the theatre.

Children: All patrons MUST have a valid ticket. To allow all patrons to enjoy the show, children under the age of four are not permitted to attend THT performances unless they are designated as a family show. Please call the box office to see which shows are appropriate for younger children.

Concessions: Please do not bring outside food and drinks to the theatre. Snacks and beverages are available for sale in the lobby.

First Aid: Please speak with the house manager or any of the ushers if you need first aid or have any sort of accident or medical emergency. Insurance regulations require that such instances be documented immediately.

Inclement Weather Policy: It is generally impossible for touring shows and performances to be rescheduled, so we do not cancel events due to inclement weather. As with other touring performances and sporting events, we are unable to refund tickets. In extreme weather conditions we will do our best to exchange subscriber, Flex package and member tickets to an alternate performance, if applicable. To protect your purchase, the theatre strongly recommends that you add on ticket insurance at the time of ticket purchase through Booking Protect.

Lost and Found: Management is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Items found at the theatre will be held by the house manager. If you have lost an item, please contact the box office as soon as possible to make a report. You will then be contacted if the item has been found. Retrieval of the item is the responsibility of the customer. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated or disposed of without compensation.

Security: Please also note that outside food and beverages, large bags, cameras and recording devices, weapons (including props/toys), projectiles, laser pointers, illegal and illicit drugs, posters, pets (except service animals), and any items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by management are not permitted. Persons exhibiting intoxication or drug use are also not permitted. At select performances, additional security measures may be in place, such as YONDR pouches for cell phones and other devices. Offenders may be removed from the theatre without compensation.

Resale of Tickets for Profit: Ticket holders may on occasion be in a position where they have purchased tickets that they later cannot personally use and will want to donate, give, trade or sell these tickets to friends or acquaintances. Management does not discourage private transactions of this nature. However, we may take appropriate actions to thwart the organized resale of tickets for profit by third parties, which we do not condone. The public is advised to be careful purchasing tickets from individuals they do not know personally, as such tickets may be void and in such cases admission to the theatre will be denied without compensation.

Standing Room: All persons entering the theatre must have a valid ticket, and are not allowed to stand in the back or aisles.

At This Theatre

The Hanover Theatre had its spectacular opening on March 14, 2008, with legendary Broadway star Bernadette Peters and the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, after a $31 million restoration effort.

Originally opened in 1904 as the Franklin Square Theatre, this building had a storied run as a Broadway touring playhouse (including featuring celebrated French actress Sarah Bernhardt in 1906), then The Grand Theatre. In 1926, it was transformed into the opulent and luxurious Poli's Palace, a “Grand Movie Palace” showcasing vaudeville acts, silent films, and “talkies,” designed by renowned theatre architect Thomas W. Lamb. Eventually, this building became the Loew’s-Poli Theatre, and then a modern Showcase Cinema in 1973 playing blockbuster movies such as “STAR WARS,” “ALIEN,” “JAWS,” and many more until shutting its doors in 1998.

Since opening, The Hanover Theatre has been home to over 2,500 performances, 3 million visitors, 110 touring Broadway shows, 400 concerts, and 150 family programs on its stage. Highlights include Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Ringo Starr, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, John Legend, Neil Young, Diana Ross, David Copperfield, Kevin James, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

ALYSSA JACQUELINE (Vacation Swing) is a dancer, singer and actress from New York! At a young age, she began training with The American Ballet Theater, The Joffrey Ballet, and The French Academy of Ballet, and has been acknowledged and rewarded numerous times for her performance quality and precision. She went on to graduate from The University of Arizona School of Dance, earning her B.F.A in Dance, with an additional B.A. in Communication. While attending school, she began performing in musical theatre productions, discovering her love for singing and storytelling. She embraced many roles, some of her favorites being Diana Morales in A Chorus Line and Sophie Sheridan in Mamma Mia . She continued to follow her passion of performing after graduating, making her Broadway National Tour debut in Hairspray as Shelley and understudying the role of Penny Pingleton! MEREDITH WILLSON

(Book, Music & Lyrics) Meredith Willson was born in 1902 in Mason City, Iowa. He learned to play the flute as a child and began playing semi-professionally while still in high school. After high school he left Iowa to study at the Damrosch Institute of Musical Art (later the Julliard School), receiving flute instruction from Georges Barrere, the world-renown flutist. While still attending the institute, he was hired as principle flutist and piccolo player for the John Philip Sousa Band. He later joined the New York Philharmonic Orchestra where he was 1st flutist. He became musical director for various radio programs throughout the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, including Tallulah Bankhead’s program, “The Big Show,” for which he wrote the hit song “May The Lord Bless and Keep You.” He composed the scores for the movies The Great Dictator and The Little Foxes, as well as symphonic, band, and choral works, including The Jervis Bay: Symphonic Variations on an American Theme and Anthem of the Atomic Age. Willson wrote three Broadway musicals: The Music Man, his first and most successful; The Unsinkable Molly Brown (music and lyrics), and Here’s Love (book, music and lyrics). As an author he has published two autobiographical works (And There I Stood with My Piccolo and Eggs I Have Laid), one novel (Who Did What to Fedalia) and a memoir about the making of The Music Man (But He Doesn’t Know the Territory).

DEBORAH DENENBERG (Producer)

Deborah began her career at the Upstairs Dinner Theater in Omaha, Nebraska. The Upstairs’ turnaround became the subject of a Harvard Business School case study, Lyric, Inc taught in business curriculums nationwide. Deborah next joined the Broadway producers Dodger Productions. There she co-created Big League Productions, and produced national tours such as: Guys and Dolls, The Secret Garden, Into the Woods, Driving Miss Daisy , and The Who’s Tommy. Now also producing Theater for Young Audience musicals, Deborah recently opened Just Ask! based on the children’s book by Sonia Sotomayor. Deborah also teaches business executives through her company Hark Communications.

SHER (Executive Producer and General Management) is celebrating its 35th season of producing and general managing Broadway tours of shows and attractions throughout the world. Early highlights were collaborations with Disney on Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida (US Tours, Taiwan, and China) and with Cameron Mackintosh on a new production of Miss Saigon. Also, the Tony®-Award-winning Broadway revival of 42nd Street and Susan Stroman’s Broadway production of Meredith Willson’s The Music Man. Others:

Footloose (Las Vegas, US Tour) , Titanic, 1776, Peter Pan, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum starring Rip Taylor, Blast!, The Who’s Tommy (US Tour, South America, Europe, and Japan), Ain’t Misbehavin’ with Ruben Studdard, and the First National Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – flying car and all.
