As I worked on this month’s issue, our family experienced the unexpected loss of a dear friend. Watching her loved ones navigate such a heartbreaking time without access to important documents, phones, computers, and personal information has been a powerful reminder that preparation matters at every stage of life—even when we feel healthy and have plenty of time ahead of us.
