“Doctor Dolittle” was originally a 1967 film with Rex Harrison that was a dismal flop. It cost $17 million and made only $9 million. 20th Century Fox tried again in 1998 with Eddie Murphy, and the sequel grossed $294 million. Another sequel in 2001, also with Murphy, grossed $176 million. Now, Universal Studios has acquired the rights and are making “Voyage of Dr. Doolittle” with Robert Downey Jr. in the title role. Downey’s been Tony Stark, aka “Iron Man,” since 2008 and has completed “The Avengers: Infinity War,” which is due in May.

IS SUGAR CAUSING YOUR WEIGHT GAIN? Tips for cutting back
Taking care of your heart starts with your diet and making healthy changes. Cutting down on sugar, which experts say most Americans consume far too much of on a daily basis, is the perfect place to start. To avoid extra sugar in your diet, consider these strategies: • Shop the Perimeter. Sticking to the perimeter of the grocery store is a good rule of thumb, as this tends to be where you’ll find the least processed foods, such as vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat and seafood, most of which are free of added sugar. • Read Food Labels. Seek out foods containing little to no sugar, being careful to read labels. You may have to look hard though, as sugar is ubiquitous in American foods. Bear in mind that ingredient listings on packaged foods are in order of volume. • Learn Sugar’s Other Names. “Pretty much anything ending in ‘ose’ is a sugar. And whether it’s fructose, dextrose or sucrose, it will end up as a sugar in your body,” says Mandi Knowles, Registered Dietitian at South Beach Diet. Avoid them if you want to eat less sugar. • Buy Unsweetened Foods. Look for food labels that say the food is unsweetened. Not “naturally sweetened.” Unsweetened. That means there won’t be anything lurking in there that could throw you off. • Make Sugar Swaps. Simple swaps can help you save on sugar. Swap soda for unsweetened iced tea and save 31 grams of sugar. Swap non-fat flavored yogurt for Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries and save 19 grams of sugar. Swap your favorite vanilla latte for black coffee with a splash of cream and save 35 grams of sugar. • Try Something New. Consider a diet plan that focuses on good carbs, good fats, healthy protein and high fiber, such as the South Beach Diet, which is proven to have a positive impact on heart health, weight loss and belly fat. Delivering on average just 1 percent of calories from added sugars, it was the first plan to propose dieters focus less on cutting out fats and carbs and focus more on considering the quality of the fats and carbs they’re eating. We all have moments in which a higher amount of energy is flowing within and from us. And, if you are mindful of these moments, you can create more. What does the research say about how to build zest? Here are three practical strategies:
HOW ZESTY ARE YOU?
Being more fully present and engaged in life
When you think of zest, you might imagine a co-worker who is always eager and wired, even first thing in the morning. Or, you might picture the Energizer Bunny pounding its drum or a person singing and dancing in the rain. These images are a bit extreme for the character strength of zest, which might explain why most people don’t especially relate to it.
1. Talk about the good When something good happens to you, share it verbally with someone and not just through social media. Research shows that frequently sharing positive events boosts your energy and zest. 2. Find nature during the day Take your work breaks outdoors, whenever possible. Research shows that going outside, especially in nature, boosts zest. If you aren’t working, be sure to arrange bits of your day that involve going outside.
But, zest is important for all of us. It means to activate yourself, to live life fully. It is one of two character strengths (along with hope) that is most connected to happiness. Zest brings many benefits such as greater meaning, better physical health and a higher level of engagement in life. While we can’t all be zestful Energizer Bunnies, each of us can naturally come alive with energy.
3. Activate your behavior Think of the exercise/activity that you find most pleasurable. Be sure to consider the many varieties of movement such as yoga, tai chi, walking, dancing, swimming, biking and sports. Structure your week so you can do this one activity a few times per week.

Mouthwatering Italian Cuisine You’ll Crave After the First Bite Little Sicily has been serving authentic Chicago-style Italian cuisine in the Northwest Valley for 11 years. Locally-owned and operated by Sicilians, the food at Little Sicily is unbelievably delicious. Mike Faulisi and George Alaimo purchased Little Sicily from their friend and former owner Dominic Scafidi. George Alaimo moved to the U.S. from Sicily in the 1970s, and has been in the restaurant business ever since. “I remember walking past a pizza place when I was 12 years old, watching people throw pizza dough in the air, and thinking, ‘I want to do that.’ When I was 13, I went into that same pizza place and asked for a job, and soon was washing dishes. Making pizza is an art. I had to work my way up to that.” In addition to the many sandwiches and pizzas made at Little Sicily, the menu boasts authentic Italian pasta dishes and appetizers, as well as delicious desserts.
“The Cannoli is homemade and the Tiramisu is brought in fresh from Chicago,” says Alaimo. Among the other unique services available at Little Sicily, is BYOB (Bring your favorite wine and beer). The latest smartphones have some great new features, but they come with hefty price tags, and such devices are not necessarily built-to-last. The new iPhone X, for example, recently hit the market at a $1,000 starting price and experts say it’s extremely fragile. With its all-glass design, you may be wondering if it’s worth the investment. Recent tests conducted by SquareTrade using scientific robots to drop, bend, tumble, and dunk devices, revealed the iPhone X to be one of the most breakable iPhone models ever made, shattering on its first face down drop. “Without taking a few key precautions, consumers are likely going to spend more than the $1,000 they’ve already invested in their phone over their devices’ lifetime,” says Jason Siciliano, vice president global creative director at SquareTrade. VETERANS POST Veterans who want to upgrade their military discharge now have help. The Department of Veterans Affairs, working with the Department of Defense, has created a new online tool.

Go online to www.vets. gov/discharge-upgrade-instructions to the How to Apply for a Discharge Upgrade page. Based on your answers to questions, this tool will walk you through whom you need to contact, provide the forms and give tips on appealing your discharge. At the end of the questions you’ll get an initial reply. If it says you need to fill out a DOD Form 149, just scroll down to download it. If you did apply and were approved, you’ll be issued a DD215.
