BREWS BURGERS TGC expands into tasty new venture creating the perfect hangout space
T
he Garrett Companies’ “bread and butter” has always been class-A luxury, suburban apartments. This is a product type that the team continues to excel in delivering. In fact, TGC became so good at it that they decided to add yet another step to the process to set ourselves apart from the competition. This time, members of the team explored the idea of adding a restaurant to the TGC portfolio. The future site of The Mezz at Fiddler’s Green in Centennial, Colorado turned out to be a great location to jumpstart this new venture. Thus, I.C. Brewhouse was born. I.C. Brewhouse (I.C. = Inner Circle) is designed to be a neighborhood gathering place we want our residents to fall in love with and become the community’s go-to hangout. At I.C., everyone

Military leads to career in multifamily development

yan Deckard joined The Garrett Companies in 2019, because of his expertise with closing deals. Ryan has been a great asset to the team as the number of deals that TGC closes continues to grow. Ryan started working in the legal field during his time in the military. Ryan served in the US Army for 11 years. For five years he was active duty, two of which were in Iraq on one year deployments. He spent another six years in the Reserves. While serving, he was transferred into the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps as a paralegal specialist. In this role he worked in multiple areas including family law, military justice, and reforming the judicial system in Iraq. This transfer is the reason why Ryan is in the legal field today! After his military career, Ryan obtained a job at a small environmental law firm in downtown Indianapolis. Then, he joined Simon Property Group for 10 years and became an expert in his field. After his mentor left the company, he looked for a new opportunity and was lead to TGC. As the Closing Associate at TGC, Ryan is
responsible for reviewing legal action items and checklists, uploading updates, and connecting with financing partners to ensure they have due diligence materials. Attention to detail is a must and Ryan helps make sure everything runs smoothly. Closing week is always busy for Ryan as the week revolves around ensuring all documentation is executed, finalized, and ready to close. His favorite part of the role is seeing a deal come to fruition whether it is acquiring land, entering into the financing, or closing the disposition. Like many team members, Ryan starts his day with a fresh cup of coffee, most often from a local coffee shop. If timing and weather allows, he also likes to take a morning walk with his two young girls. Ryan is passionate about riding and racing motorcycles and has been doing so since he was four years old. Ryan has owned the Midwest’s largest rally racing organization with a few of his friends as well, proving he’s a true fanatic. TGC is grateful to have Ryan on the team. is welcome and everyone is encouraged to gather with each other whether it’s family, neighbors, coworkers, friends, or strangers. I.C. Brewhouse is designated as a place to take a load off and forget about the worries of the world. Creating community is the focal point of I.C. Our guests can find a sense of community in the restaurant, within The Mezz next door, the surrounding neighborhoods in central Colorado, or within the employees of TGC and I.C. Brewhouse. Even the logo and interior design have a tie to the community aspect of I.C. In addition to the initial location in Centennial, more locations will soon be added in Castle Rock, CO and Thornton, CO. As a way to incorporate each community within the individual restaurants, each one will have a location-specific logo that will allow patrons who may travel between locations to receive that same sense of community. As for the menu, ingredients and products sold within the doors of the brewhouse are working toward the same idea of fellowship and community. Guests will be able to choose from 16 local draft beers and enjoy locally raised beef. Community-focused dining continues with thoughtfully designed spaces meant for connecting with one another. The interior design at the Centennial location was described as a mix between a ski-lodge and a fine-dining restaurant. It is meant to feel warm and reminds residents and diners alike of home. Interiors feature an upscale look, with a casual feel that is organic, natural, and unpretentious. With finishes such as petrified wood, subway tiles, and corrugated metal, the design pulls in a casual, unsophisticated ambiance. COO Matt Griffin outlined it best, saying, “We’re trying to make it seem as though we’ve been here forever, even though we’re brand new.”

As for the team, Garrett Restaurant Group is currently comprised of Jason Esterly (General Manager), Tiffany Letzo (Manager), and Ryan Graham (Manager). Jason Jason has been in the restaurant indusEsterly try for 28 years, 20 of which have been in upper-level management. He has opened a countless number of Chili’s restaurants country-wide over the years. Jason mentioned that he loves how the industry has Tiffany molded him into who he is today. Letzo Tiffany has been in the industry for 17 years, primarily working within the hotel restaurant industry, also specializing in the development and opening of restaurants. Tiffany loves the food and beverage aspect Ryan of her job, especially developing Graham and coordinating beverage pro-
grams. Finally, Ryan has been in the restaurant industry for 10 years. Having been the general manager at the busiest Jimmy John’s in the state of Colorado, Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge about the restaurant’s surrounding area and its customers’ wants and needs. When asked about his anticipation for the restaurant and its opening, Jason mentioned that he can’t wait to see the vision of so many finally come to life. Jason shared, “We are excited to bring this to The Garrett Companies and bring everybody together whether they are in the corporate office, Colorado, Florida, or wherever they are! We’re excited for everybody to take pride in and be a part of the restaurant.” Like Jason, everyone here at TGC is ecstatic to see I.C. Brewhouse kickoff. Echo Park at Perry Crossing in Plainfield, IN is the first community Garrett Residential manages that was not developed by TGC. The 274 unit community is in a great neighborhood on the west side of Indianapolis.
Garrett Residential to manage third-party owned community In October, The Garrett Companies expanded their reach and services when they entered into a new partnership with Sila Capital. Garrett Residential has been hired to operate Echo Park at Perry Crossing in Plainfield, IN. With it’s E-Urban and BigHouse style buildings, the 274 unit luxury apartment community is similar in design and quality to the communities de-
veloped and constructed by The Garrett Companies. It makes a terrific addition to the Garrett Residential portfolio. With this new partnership, Garrett Residential brings on seven new employees and begins their exciting new venture in third-party management services. Congratulations to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible, and welcome Echo Park to our team!
