The Academies: K-Prep 4 through 5th Grade

Academies Golf -Elevate your child’s game with Coach Daniel from the Brian Davis Golf Academy! Whether your child is an absolute beginner picking up a club for the first time or an experienced golfer looking to refine their competitive edge, our classes provide the perfect environment to grow Coach Daniel focuses on mastering the fundamentals—from grip and stance to advanced swing mechanics and course strategy all while emphasizing sportsmanship and fun Through a mix of technical drills and engaging challenges, students will build confidence, improve their skills, and develop a lifelong love for the game. This class is open to all skill levels. Students will be split into groups based on ability level

Agility Academy - Agility Academy is an exciting and fun group for 1st to 5th graders, focused on boosting speed, quickness, and agility through playful drills and activities. Each session includes games and activities that improve footwork, coordination, and reaction time, helping young athletes grow their skills. Along with the physical fun, we’ll also gather for a short Bible devotion, where kids

can learn valuable lessons about faith, teamwork, and perseverance Agility Academy provides a positive, faith-filled environment where kids can stay active, have fun, and build both their athletic abilities and their relationship with God.

Band Room - In Band Academy, 4th and 5th graders will get hands-on time with several instruments before choosing one to focus on later in the year This allows students to try, compare, and find their best fit in a relaxed, structured, and beginner-friendly environment.

Instruments available to try and choose from: flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, and/or percussion. (There will be a limited amount of each instrument, so if your child would like to rent a specific instrument from an outside company, please see rental information below as well )

Students gain foundational playing techniques, listening and rhythm skills, teamwork and ensemble habits, and confidence from trying something new Band Academy is ideal for students who are curious, creative, and ready to step into the world of instrumental music—no prior experience required We’d love for you to join us as students find their sound and begin their band journey

*Instrument Rental Information: The Band Room in Orlando is used for rental needs. They deliver instruments and repairs to TFA every Tuesday morning. Families will call and set up payment over the phone for a specific instrument and the instruments are delivered the following week.

Board Game Buddies - A fun after school class for TK-1st graders, where students get to explore and play a variety of board games! Each week, kids will try out different types of games, from simple matching and memory games to interactive adventure and strategy games, all designed to suit their age and abilities The class encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and social skills as they play together, take turns, and enjoy learning new games. It's a great way for kids to bond, have fun, and discover the joy of board games!

Cheer Skills - Do you love to dance, jump, and cheer? Join us for an action-packed session where you’ll learn what it takes to be a Royal! From learning " game day" motions and tumbling to hitting your first basic routine every class is a new adventure. It’s not just about the technique it’s about the

fun! We’ve packed every session with exciting cheer games and spirit-filled activities Grab your pom-poms and let’s get started!

Dance (Year-Round) - Miss Abby provides a professional, artistic, and fun learning environment for all ages and levels Your child will learn elements of both ballet and jazz to help improve their strength, flexibility, range of motion, coordination, and balance. Dance class runs from August 18, 2025 through May 8, 2026, and will end in a “Dance Review” for parents to attend on May 11, 2026 New students are invited to register.

Futsal - D2 Futsal’s objective is to provide high-quality futsal training to children interested in improving their soccer skills while also having fun Futsal is a dynamic form of soccer, highly recommended for both novice and experienced players who wish to enhance their abilities and game understanding Their teaching methodology is based on ecological dynamics, where we focus on developing players' ability to read the game and improve their decision-making skills to effectively solve the challenges that arise during play. The importance of life values, teamwork, resilience, and discipline are emphasized in the program

Introduction to Coding - Students will grow their problem-solving abilities, creativity, and project management skills through participation in this engaging class. In this leveled program, students will be able to develop their skill set in principles of programming, including algorithms and logic, no matter what their knowledge base is. Students will also write and test their own codes.

Little Medical School - God created the human body and cares about you greatly! Learn all about the different parts of your body and how they work together ‘Little Medical School’ gives you the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge that is practical and super cool.

Lower School Volleyball League - Our Lower School Volleyball League is back! We are excited to continue partnering with other local schools for the fall. Practice will be held once per week on Mondays after school in the Cramer Family Field House at TFA. Games will also be once per week, at rotating locations Lower School Volleyball games will be Wednesdays after school Please note that students who register for the Fall LS Volleyball League will get priority when registering for the Spring LS Volleyball League.

Lower School Basketball League - Our Lower School Basketball League is back! We are excited to continue partnering with other local schools for the spring. Practice will be held once per week at TFA in the Cramer Family Field House Games will also be once per week, at rotating locations on Saturday mornings. More details on game times will follow closer to the start of the session. (Max. number of students depends on coaching availability)

Martial Arts - Jump into a high-energy environment where fun and personal growth go hand in hand! Our kids' martial arts classes combine dynamic movement with life-skill building, helping students develop everything from physical coordination to "black belt" focus Through a mix of exciting drills and interactive games, children learn the importance of respect and discipline while building the confidence to tackle any challenge It’s the perfect place for kids to stay active, make new friends, and discover their inner strength in a positive, supportive atmosphere.

Multi-Sports - Soccer, Dodgeball, Basketball, Flag Football, Rugby (Non-Contact), Volleyball, Team Building Games and so much more! Multi-Sports is a great opportunity to participate in a varied program that is focused on enjoyment and building confidence. Players will be encouraged to make friends, improve sporting skills and will have opportunities to develop their leadership and teamwork in fun games and activities!

Pickleball - DR Pickleball Program builds real sports skills and values through fun, energetic instruction. Students develop their abilities while gaining a deeper understanding of the game. Beginners will learn the basics: drives, serving, volleys, dinks, and scoring through exciting games that build coordination and confidence.

Advanced players will sharpen their technique, improve footwork, and apply strategy in fast-paced match play, developing a deeper understanding and love for the game

Pokémon Trainer Academy - Are you ready to take your skills to the next level? Whether you ’ re just starting your journey or you ’ re already a seasoned Gym Leader, this class is the ultimate place to play, strategize, and have a blast! For New Trainers: Learn the "Evolution" of the game! We’ll teach you the basics—from drives and serving to volleys and scoring—using awesome games that build your coordination and confidence. For Elite Trainers: Sharpen your "Battle Stats!" Work on advanced footwork, lightning-fast techniques, and winning strategies in high-energy match play Let’s see if you have what it takes to be the very best!

Science Explorers’ Lab - The Science Explorers’ Lab class turns the classroom into a high-energy laboratory where your child doesn’t just read about science they do it Our hands-on curriculum is designed to spark critical thinking, encourage teamwork, and foster a lifelong love for discovery. This session, your child will dive into some of our most exciting labs yet: The World of Strawberry DNA, The (safe) Explosion of Mentos and Coke, The Wonder of Cloud Formations and much, much more! Come explore, experiment, and get a little messy while building a strong scientific foundation.

Story Time Chess - We bring chess to life through magical storytelling and colorful characters! Our award-winning program was created in New York City and is used all around the world. More than just teaching a game, Story Time Chess strengthens critical thinking skills, focus, and confidence all while having fun! Through silly stories, mini-games, and active play, we guide children through the fundamentals of chess in a way that’s playful and memorable. We can’t wait for you to join us!

S.T.E.A.M Extreme - Do you like to create and build things? S.T.E.A.M. combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through hands-on learning experiences to solve real life challenges. We will use creativity, teamwork, and scientific inquiry through project-based learning experiences with a different theme every week Get your thinking caps on!

Tennis - Tennis will focus on learning and developing the fundamentals of tennis including groundstrokes, volleys, serves, footwork, scoring, and match play. Each session will include individual instruction, group drills, fun games, and team and individual competitions Players will need to wear athletic tennis shoes and bring water and a racket daily All skill levels are welcome

Tiny Twirlers - Get ready to twirl, spin, and shine! Tiny Twirlers is a high-energy, fun-filled class designed especially for our youngest performers. Dancers will learn the basics of twirling, baton handling, and beginner dance movements, all while building coordination, confidence, and creativity. This class is a wonderful introduction to the world of twirling and performing arts.

Soccer Clinics - Join Coach Mark for fun and engaging soccer clinics designed to help players build their skills, improve teamwork, and grow their love for the game! Each session will include drills focused on footwork, passing, shooting, and game awareness, with age-appropriate instruction in a positive and encouraging environment Whether your child is new to soccer or looking to sharpen their abilities, Coach Mark’s clinics are the perfect opportunity to grow as a player while having a great time on the field

Basketball Clinic - Join us for a fun and engaging basketball clinic led by Coach T! This week-long clinic will focus on developing fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork in a supportive and encouraging environment Students will participate in skill-building drills, friendly games, and interactive challenges to help improve their confidence and love for the game. Perfect for beginners or those looking to sharpen their skills, this clinic is all about learning, playing, and having fun!

Volleyball Clinic - Get ready to bump, set, and spike your way to fun! Led by our Varsity Volleyball Coach Amanda Serpa, this Lower School Volleyball Clinic is packed with exciting drills, games, and friendly scrimmages that help students learn the basics and improve their skills while having a blast. Perfect for beginners or kids who want to level up their game, this clinic focuses on teamwork, confidence, and, most importantly, having fun on the court!

Art: Private Lessons - We are excited to offer private art lessons with Mrs. Moseler! Offerings include:

-3D Printing -Drawing

-Acrylic Painting

-Master Artists Lesson / Watercolor Painting

-Printmaking -Oil Painting (Middle and High school only, 60 min)

-Photography -Other art assistance, except clay.

After registration, Mrs Moseler will be in contact with you to set up a time that is convenient for both of your schedules.

Ceramics: Private Lessons - We are excited to offer private ceramics lessons with Mrs. Collins! Whether you want to learn to throw a pot on the Potter's Wheel, or make coil, slab, or pinch sculptures, you will find some fun with clay. Or maybe you need help assembling a portfolio for a job or college interview, learn how to show off your work!

After registration, Mrs. Collins will be in contact with you to set up a time that is convenient for both of your schedules.

Tennis: Private Lessons - Elite Tennis Academy is now offering private (one-on-one) tennis lessons to TFA Lower School students! Lessons are packaged in various formats. Please see the registration website for options

The Academies: 6th-8th Grade

Ballet and Modern Dance Choreography - Students will learn the foundational principles of body movement and form. These are important aspects of ballet performance because ballet puts great emphasis on the method and execution of movement. The techniques found in classical ballet are a framework for many other styles of dance, including jazz and contemporary ballet Students will also focus on alignment, or keeping the head, shoulders, and hips vertically aligned.

Horton Technique Modern Dance has no style, per se The technique emphasizes a whole body, anatomical approach to dance that includes flexibility, strength, coordination and body and spatial awareness to enable unrestricted, dramatic freedom of expression.

With the Dance Review approaching, students will apply their skills to learn and polish choreography, showing off the progress they've made throughout the term.

Chess Team - The Rookly Chess League opens the door for all students to participate in scholastic chess. No travel, no hassle—the matches are through Rookly’s online platform, featuring integrated video and a live leaderboard. Compete alongside 100-plus schools across the country, including Horace Mann, Riverdale, Seacrest Country Day, and many others The matches are open to students in 1st through 8th grade. Younger students should have experience with playing chess. Students do not have to be a part of Chess Class to participate on the Chess Team Rookly Chess League is moderated by Rookly Chess Company

Cost: $40 per semester (Rookly Chess League starts February 2nd and runs through April 27th)
