The most recent comparable cattle were traded in early December, therefore there is not trend available, though a firm undertone throughout the entire sale was noted. Today’s supply consisted mostly of home raised, pre-conditioned calves with multiple vaccination programs and long wean periods. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The run was comprised of 100 percent feeder cattle of which approximately 59 percent were steers and 41 percent were heifers with approximately 75 percent of the run weighing over 600 lbs. The next available report for this market will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week slaughter lambs and feeder lambs had no comparable trades. Slaughter ewes and bucks had no comparable trades. In goats, slaughter kids and slaughter nannies had no comparable trades. Slaughter billies and slaughter wethers had no comparable. Had a few lots that totaled 125 head that were 3-4 year old exposed ewes weighing 177-212 lbs with a price range of 200.00-210.00 per head. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The sheep supply consisted of approximately 39 percent slaughter lambs and 22 percent feeder lambs with the balance being slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of approximately 55 percent slaughter kids, 35 percent slaughter nannies/does with the balance being slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lamb are sold on a per cwt basis and goats are sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
