Raphael: Sublime Poetry is the first comprehensive exhibition on Raphael in the United States, bringing together more than 170 of the artist’s greatest masterpieces and rarely seen treasures to illuminate the brilliance of Raphael’s extraordinary creativity. The son of a painter and poet, Raphael engaged with the foremost writers and thinkers of his age in Rome, displaying a poetic sensibility that captivated his peers and generations that followed. Follow the full breadth of his life and career, from his origins in Urbino to his rise in Florence, where he began to emerge as a peer of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, to his final, prolific decade at the papal court in Rome.

To underscore the range of his genius, this presentation brings together important drawings, paintings, and tapestries from public and private collections across Europe and the United States, many of which have never been shown together. With particular attention to Raphael’s portrayal of women—from his use of nude female models for the ﬁrst time in Western art to his tender depictions of the Madonna and Child—and recent scientiﬁc discoveries made using stateof-the-art technology, this exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience the genius of an artist who helped shape the course of art history.

Deep in a lush oak forest, on the bank of Bushkill Creek sits this hidden oasis. This is simply the most private abode in the entire area. Situated just feet from the water, the falls can be seen and heard from every room within the cabin’s charming, rustic interior. This spectacular 45 acre parcel is set within a vast reserve of state land: an oasis within an oasis. Just 90 minutes from NYC, this is a truly sublime atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a rejuvenating and inspiring getaway.

The Bushkill Creek originates from a mountain spring at an elevation of about 1500 ft. From there, the cabin is the very ﬁrst home on it’s course. It is, therefore, the highest in elevation of any home on the creek. Here the water is untouched, full of brook trout when in season, and extremely cold. The creek draws an array of wildlife, from otters to owls, even an occasional bear.

Beneath a canopy of oak, hemlock and tulip poplar, the cabin’s wrap around deck is the perfect platform for relaxing to the sounds of the falls, grilling, chilling, reading, writing, surﬁng, strumming, yoga, and more. Inside, the intimate living / dining room features a wood burning stove, hardwood ﬂoors, and the original wall slats that were milled from hemlocks grown on the property.

The magniﬁcent Delaware River is just a few minutes downhill and offers amazing scenery, river trips (kayak, canoe, or tube), and more great ﬁshing. The river continues through Delaware Water Gap National Park which features impressive waterfalls, great hikes, and a bike path that traverses the entire park. The historic village of Milford is peppered with attractions including Grey Towers, antique stores, and galleries. There’s even a local history museum celebrating the town’s role in launching the US Conservation Movement.

This one-of-a-kind cabin borders the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Hike right behind the cabin, through the woods, to Dingmans Creek. A short hike upstream leads to George W. Childs Park with 3 tumbling waterfalls, a rustic trail system, and observation decks. A longer hike downstream will bring you to Dingmans Falls. Swimming, ﬁshing, hiking, biking, canoeing, and kayaking are available all within minutes of the cabin.

The cabin is nestled in a Hemlock Forest bordering the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The cabin is down a wooded path and very private although other cabins are nearby. A queen-sized bed in the back sleeping loft has a magical view of the forest.

Opposite is a cozy ofﬁce space with an inviting daybed. Relax on the living room couch with a sliding glass door view of the woods and deck. The cabin has a kitchen and bathroom with a rain shower (great water pressure). The space is open (the only interior door is to the bathroom) with a view of the woods in every direction.

A wonderful, relaxing spot to enjoy nature. Lots of hiking, biking, ﬁshing, boating, swimming, etc. nearby. The historic town of Milford, PA is close by. Antique and specialty shops, yoga, bakeries, dining, music… Or just park the car and nestle in with a campﬁre or a book on the back porch. An hour and a half from NYC, but a world away.
