ATTENTION SECTION 2

• How can I avoid procrastination or giving up?

• How do I stay focused?

• How do I stay on track?

• What distracts me when I study?

• can I train my attention?

How do I Avoid Procrastinating or Giving Up?

HONESTY IS KEY!

Write down what distracts you the most –whether it’s your phone, TV, social media, or even daydreaming.

Now, let’s put strategies in place to reduce those distractions so you can stay focused and get the results you deserve!

Small changes, like turning off notifications or setting up a quiet study space, can make a big difference. Let’s take control!

What usually distracts you when trying to study?

What can you do to prevent being thrown off track?

How to Stay on !

Use a timer or app to track your 30-minute study sessions and 5-minute breaks. Set your alarm loud and keep your phone away from your desk to avoid distractions.

Your phone isn’t helping you study – it’s a distraction! Decide where to store it or give it to someone you trust. When your alarm goes off, use your break to check it, but stay strong and put it away after. There’s no other way! Stay focused and in control.

Where will you store your phone safely while you study?

Internet

Turn off your app notifications before you begin your study session.

If you’re watching study videos, don’t overdo it.

Remember, learning is active, just like sport – you have to actually practise to get better at it!

Remember, your main focus should be active practice. GAA football players don’t prepare for matches by just watching games – they spend most of their time practising their skills. Do the same with your study!

Make that mistake!
