President’s Report
Dear Members, Welcome to the Spring edition of your Club magazine. As the days become longer and the weather begins to warm, there's a real sense of energy around The Epping Club. Spring is always one of our busiest and most exciting seasons, and this year is no exception. Before looking ahead, I would like to acknowledge another successful year for your Club. It is my pleasure to present the latest Annual Report and to thank my fellow Directors, Chief Executive Officer Peter Saez and his Management Team for their dedication, leadership and commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for our members and guests. The Annual Report is available on the Club website, and the official Notice of Annual General Meeting can be found on the reverse of your address sheet if this magazine was mailed to you or online at www.eppingclub.com/AGMnotification I am pleased to report a net trading profit of $4,998,811. After depreciation, interest and income tax expenses, this resulted in a final net profit of $2,010,998. These strong results reflect the ongoing support of our members and place the Club in a strong position for the future. Of course, while the numbers tell one part of the story, it's what happens inside the Club that truly brings it to life. This season we have an outstanding calendar of entertainment, dining and community events for members to enjoy. Our much-loved Melbourne Cup Seafood Luncheon returns, alongside the Pink Morning Tea, Literary Lunches and all the excitement of Grand Final season. We are also delighted to welcome some fantastic new events, including our Twist & Shout Dinner Show and a special performance from internationally acclaimed comedian Joe Avati. For those who like to plan ahead, tickets for our Christmas Day Luncheon are now on sale. Every year this event sells out, so now is the perfect time to secure your place and start looking forward to a stress-free Christmas celebration with family and friends. There is also plenty of excitement for E Plus members with the launch of our latest major draw. Vale John Prestidge It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our much-loved and respected Director and Life Member, Mr John Prestidge RFD ED.
John has been a valued member of The Epping Club for 46 years and served on our Board of Directors for 22 of those years. His dedication, loyalty and genuine care for the Club and its people have left a lasting legacy. A true gentleman, John was highly respected by his fellow Directors, Management and staff, and by all who had the privilege of knowing him. On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and everyone at The Epping Club, we extend our sincere condolences to John's beloved wife, Merril, and to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. We are immensely grateful for John's many years of service and the lasting contribution he made to our Club. He will be sadly missed by us all.
