President’s Report

Dear Members,

Welcome to the autumn edition of Rawson Review! As the leaves turn and the weather cools, we’re thrilled to present an exciting lineup of events, dining experiences and activities to enjoy this season at your Club.

Our Club Grants program for 2026 will begin accepting applications in March and we’re eager to collaborate with new organisations that make a meaningful impact in our community. I am proud to share that our newly renovated event spaces will open this month following a multi-million dollar transformation. These spectacular new rooms are guaranteed to impress, and I encourage you to connect with our team for any upcoming events you may be planning.

Looking ahead to the next quarter, there’s truly something for everyone. Our live entertainment program continues to grow, featuring world-class acts that promise a nostalgic experience for many, including One Night in Memphis, Casey Donovan, Opera in the Club and the Killer Queen show.

ANZAC Day Dawn Service

Saturday 25 April | From 6am | Forest Park, Epping

us for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Cenotaph in Forest Park, Epping (off Blaxland Road). In the event of rain, the service will be held in the foyer of The Epping Club. All veterans who wish to participate in the parade should assemble at the stairs off Blaxland Road at 5:45am. Easter Ham & Prawn Raffle

Just in time for the Easter long weekend you could take home delicious hams or trays of prawns. Join us for fridge-filling fun and you could be a lucky winner! *This activity replaces the Friday night meat raffle due to Good Friday.

Puzzle Hour Fun

Tuesday 31 March | 7pm | $70 per team

There’s 500 pieces and 90 minutes on the clock, and with a cash prize up for grabs the stakes are high (not really, it’s just good old-fashioned fun - we promise!) Beginners are welcome, puzzling is for everyone… you can even enjoy a wine or two while you play.

Tony Abbott served as Australia's 28th Prime Minister and was the member for Warringah in the Australian Parliament between 1994 and 2019.

Abbott is a Rhodes Scholar and the author of three other books: The Minimal Monarchy, How to Win the Constitutional War and Battlelines. From 1998 to 2018, he convened the Pollie Pedal annual charity bike ride, which has supported organisations including Soldier On, Carers Australia and Wandering Warriors.

Abbott surfs near Queenscliff and volunteers with the Davidson Rural Fire Brigade. In 2020 he was appointed as a Companion of the Order of Australia, and in 2022 he was awarded the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. Currently, he is a director of the Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation, is a visiting fellow of the Institute of Public Affairs and the Danube Institute and is a board director of FOX Corporation. At this exciting Literary Dinner Tony will discuss his book ‘Australia: A History’ and the themes, moments and people that made our nation.
