OVER 60 YEARS
OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS This year has been one of the most unique I have experienced in my 36 years with LifeQuest. Full of many firsts, challenges and paths I would have never imagined I’d encounter. It has deepened my belief in the true spirit of giving and generous hearts of so many who unselfishly give to others, so their days might be brighter. I commend and thank the many employees, with special recognition given to those receiving service awards this year, and to the community for the many ways you have embraced LifeQuest and walked with us this past year. A special thank you goes out to the people we support and their families for your support as we have navigated through the year together. So many people, businesses and organizations have stepped forward to help us keep people safe. Whether through donations to the LifeQuest Foundation or by donating masks, we have seen firsthand the generosity of this community. We are thankful for the dozens of businesses who hire people with disabilities who worked with us to ensure that the people we support –their employees – could come back to work safely and effectively. Throughout this report, you will see the names and faces of LifeQuest. The people who do their part to help make this organization one of the best in the state. Some are employed here. Some are served here. Some are Board members. Some are donors. All of them, though, in some way, put LifeQuest ahead of themselves, and we couldn’t be more thankful for them. RECOGNITION OF LIFEQUEST STAFF MEMBERS | 2020 5 YEARS Christine Allen
Christine has been at Career Connections since 2015, she was hired as an employment coach until promoted to employment specialist. Christine says, “It has been a great experience working for LifeQuest/Career Connections the last five years.” Kala Aragon, Christine’s supervisor expresses, “Christine has a heart of gold and when she decides she will accomplish something, she always does! Christine has been a true leader for not only Career Connections but for all her co-workers. I am so proud to call her part of my work family. Thank you for everything you do Christine.”
Jill Beaton
Jill started as an employment coach at Career Connections until promoted to employment specialist. Jill explains, “I enjoy working at LifeQuest because I love to see people accomplish the dreams they never thought were possible and working with my amazing co-workers at Career Connections.” Jill’s supervisor, Kala Aragon, states, “Jill is such a significant part of the Career Connections team; I couldn’t image the workplace without her. Jill is not afraid to get her hands dirty or to jump in at any time to help anyone in need. I hope you keep up all the hard work and I look forward to working with you for many years to come.”
Becky Haslam
Since Becky’s beginning with LifeQuest she has held several positions at Career Connections; including employment coach, employment specialist and Direct Support Professional (DSP). Becky explains, “I enjoy working at LifeQuest and Career Connections because one day is never the same. I get to support some really amazing people that are so much fun!” Kala Aragon, Becky’s supervisor, says, “Becky is very dedicated to her employment with Career Connections. She offers motivation and encouragement to everyone she works with. Becky will offer her knowledge, assistance, or even just her contagious laugh to anyone without hesitation or looking for something in return. I am so glad you are part of our team Becky!”
Kendra Johnson
Kendra joined LifeQuest as a DSP at Radke & Blaalid Houses. She transferred to Career Connections for a few months until she was promoted to supervisor at Radke & Blaalid Houses. Kendra expresses, “The support from co-workers and staff that surrounds me is absolutely amazing. LifeQuest has helped me grow into a better person and has given me the chance to help others.” Kacee Regan, Kendra’s supervisor, states, “Kendra has a very wellrounded knowledge of the different programs, having worked as a DSP in the residential settings and in job development, and currently in her supervisor role at Radke and Blaalid. I appreciate Kendra’s insight, her calm demeanor, and her ability to dig deeper, ask questions, and do the right thing! Kendra is someone who can be counted on, has good connections with people, and is always willing to jump in and help out! Thank you, Kendra, for your years of service!”
Tammy Leddy-Sederquist
Tammy has been the Aberdeen Area Family Support Coordinator since her start in 2015. Tammy says, “I feel making the move to LifeQuest has been the best professional move that I have ever made. LifeQuest always puts the needs of the people we work with first. This makes my job as a coordinator easy, and I feel totally supported with every move I make. Whenever times get tough, I know I just need to make a call and there will be someone there to be by my side through whatever situation I am dealing with. They make you feel like you are part of a family.” Jessica Lang, Tammy’s supervisor, has this to say, “Tami leads with her heart, she has great compassion for the families she works with and will go above and beyond to help them with finding the best path for their loved one and the family as a whole. Through her years she has really learned the guidelines to the IEP process and is a great asset to her families.”
Kate Miller
Kate started her career as LifeQuest’s Human Resources Recruiter until she was promoted to Human Resources Manager. Kate has this to say, “I have found my first five years at LifeQuest to be incredibly rewarding, challenging, and fun. I get to work with a team of dedicated professionals all striving to make people's days better and more joyful. What could be better than that. I look forward to what the next five years will bring.” Pam Hanna, Kate’s supervisor, expresses, “We are fortunate to have Kate on the LifeQuest team. Kate is the Director of Human Resources and aspires to do the right thing for the employees who work for LifeQuest. She is knowledgeable in her duties, yet flexible in helping to meet the needs of others. She is a persistent, creative and willing to pitch in and help when others need it. Kate’s internal and external work has helped to foster a stronger community awareness of LifeQuest and provide consistency to people supported through her recruitment and retention efforts. Congratulations Kate on your five years of service.”
Larry Moeller
Larry has been a DSP in the woodshop since he began in 2015. All Larry has to say is, “I just like working with people supported plus the staff.” According to Larry’s supervisor, Menetta Rassel, “Larry ensures the woodshop runs smoothly every day. Whether it’s filling orders or building us some sort of contraption, we can always rely on Larry to get the job done right and on time.”
April Olson
April started her third stint at LifeQuest in 2015, her first stint was for 2 ½ years, second stint was 4 years. She has been a DSP in several residential locations, Career Connections and currently in day services. April explains, “I enjoy working at Lifequest because the people we support make my life so much better. I enjoy seeing them achieve their dreams and their big smiles brighten up my day and others around them. Also, I enjoy helping them daily to enrich their lives so that they can live a normal life like you and me!” Mike Sejnoha, April’s supervisor, expresses, “We are so happy to have April back with us at LifeQuest. Her energy, smile and vitality help to bring a sparkle to everyone’s days in the Life Enrichment Program.”
Tawn Steffes
Tawn has been a DSP for the past five years, starting at Centennial Apartments and currently at the KJ Program. Comments from Tawn, “I love working at LifeQuest! The people I support and the people I work with are such amazing additions to my life!” Tawn’s supervisor, Peggy Huber, states, “Tawn is a strong advocate for the people she supports and coworkers alike. She can stay calm and positive during situations which makes her a valued member of the KJ Program team. She has the ability of keeping everyone involved in fun actives during her shifts. Thanks, for all you do! Congratulations Tawn.”
Theresa Wheeler
Theresa has been a DSP for North Kimball House for the past five years. Theresa expresses, “I enjoy working for LifeQuest. I enjoy helping adults with special needs live happier lives. They make me happy to help them every day.” According to Jeanie Morgan, Theresa’s supervisor, “Theresa is a dedicated employee, she is passionate about her job and very thorough with her job duties. Theresa is a delight to work with and keeps you on the go! Thank you, Theresa, for being a devoted and dedicated employee!”

15 YEARS Skyler Whittenhagen
Holly Fechner
Skyler started in 2015 as a part time DSP at North Kimball House and continues there full-time overnight. Skyler expresses, "Working at Life Quest has allowed me to meet many people who have impacted my life. They will stick with me whether in my memory or in my life still." Skyler’s supervisor, Jeanie Morgan, points out, “Skyler has a great calm demeanor, she handles all situations calm and collected. She is a very observant staff that pays close attention to detail especially with medication administration. Thank you, Skyler, for being our go to person with technology and medications.”
Holly started at LifeQuest in 2005 as the Bookkeeper; in 2011 she was named Accounting Specialist. Holly states, “After 15 years at LifeQuest, I can’t imagine working anywhere else. We are one big family caring for one another, and I love it!” Holly’s supervisor, Mark Limberg, says, “Holly is a wonderful employee who will go the extra mile for anyone, especially the Family Support program. Holly also helps get us through the financial audit each year with her great detail on everything that she does. She is a very valued employee and I look forward to working with her for many years to come. Thanks for everything you do Holly.”
10 YEARS
Heidi Geppert
Heidi began her first stint with LifeQuest in 1998 as the East Elm supervisor. She came back in 2005 as a Residential Supervisor; 2015 she began her Support Specialist position. Heidi quotes, “I truly enjoy working at LifeQuest because of the people I work with and the impact they have had on my life. Albert Schweitzer said it best with, ‘At times, when our light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.’ Thank you.” Heidi’s supervisor, Betty Visscher, expresses, “For the past five years she has worked diligently to provide quality services for people as their Support Specialist, with LifeQuest’s Vision, Mission and Values at the core of these supports and services. Heidi has a good relationship with people she supports and their families. Heidi is always willing to go the extra mile to assist with supporting people. Thank you for your dedication to LifeQuest and the people you work with. It is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good job.”
Coleen Bernards
Coleen has been a full-time overnight DSP at Park Place Apartments since she started at LifeQuest in 2010. Coleen’s supervisor, Peggy Huber, has this to say, “Coleen has good relationships with people supported and coworkers. She is typically calm, optimistic, kind, genuinely caring, and compassionate. Coleen tries to see the best in others and in every situation. She is truly admired for her courage, faith, and strength. Congratulations Coleen.”
Jenny Kotrba
Since Jenny’s start in 2010 she has worked as a DSP at a few locations including Radke & Blaalid, North Kimball and currently East Elm House. Jenny explains, “I enjoy helping my fellow human beings. I am a caregiver at heart.” Jenny’s supervisor, Jenny Toulouse, states, “Jenny is always ready to ensure that the people supported have meaningful days through activities. Especially now during this pandemic. She knows how important it is for them to connect with their families.”
Melissa McMillian
Melissa has been a DSP for the Radke & Blaalid Houses since she began in 2005. Melissa has this to say, “It does not seem like it has been 15 years already, LifeQuest is like my second home. This is my family, and I could not ask for better coworkers to be by my side. I love the people I support and enjoy spending time with them all. Working here has been a special part of my life that I will always cherish!" Kendra Johnson, Melissa’s supervisor, states, “Melissa continues to be the voice for the people. She is very dedicated to her role and the people.”
Darla Schoenfelder
Darla started her employment with LifeQuest as a DSP at North Kimball, then transferred to the day services in 2012. Darla says, “I enjoy being a DSP because it gives me the opportunity to meet individuals from all walks of life. You get to be a part of the individual’s milestones and assist in exposing them to new growth and opportunities to help build their ideal life. I have a passion for people and helping them grow and making a difference in their daily lives.” Mike Sejnoha, Darla’s supervisor, points out, “It’s been fun to watch Darla’s growth over the years. She has continued to develop her confidence and contributions into more and more roles that we really have come to rely upon.”
Marla Voelker
Marla has been a DSP at several residential locations since her start in 2005, including North Kimball, East Elm, Centennial and currently McLeod House. Marla points out, “I love working at LifeQuest because they are just part of my family and I just love them.” Jeanie Morgan, Marla’s supervisor, says, “Marla is always on the go! She is willing to help in any situation and goes above and beyond! I can always count on Marla! Thank you, Marla, for your willingness to put a smile on the faces of the people we support!”
Kaleena Upton
Kaleena has been a DSP at Radke & Blaalid Houses since her start in 2010. Kaleena states, “In the 10 years that I have been with LifeQuest my coworkers and people supported have become like a second family; always ready with a smile and a laugh to make each day better than the one before. Helping each individual person through their day to make it brighter and more meaningful is a privilege that I never expected to know and one I will always treasure.” Kendra Johnson, Kaleena’s supervisor, says, “Kaleena helps others experience new and different things.”
Cassie Werkmeister
Cassie began as a DSP at East Elm House and Wheatridge Apartments until she was promoted to a Support Specialist in 2016. Cassie explains, “For the past 10 years I have enjoyed learning something new every day. Coming to work each day a new adventure is always waiting for me.” Bobbi Huber, Cassie’s supervisor, has this to say, “Cassie is very organized, reliable, dependable, and pays attention to details. She keeps Community Support on top of Health and Safety. She has a lot of knowledge and is quick to offer advice to help her coworkers and people supported. She is always willing to jump in and help whenever possible! Thank you, Cassie, for all you do, it is greatly appreciated.”
20 YEARS Carol Limberg
Carol started her first nine-month stint in 1992 as a DSP in day services. She returned to LifeQuest in 2000 as a DSP in the day service program until she was named Support Specialist. Carol expresses, “I enjoy working at LifeQuest because every day is a chance to do something different and to make a difference. I also enjoy spending time with the LifeQuest family.” Betty Visscher, Carol’s supervisor has this to say, “Carol’s longevity and experience working with people is an asset to LifeQuest and people we support. With twenty years of experience, Carol has developed a good working relationship with people and now works more closely with families, as well. For 15 years, she worked in the production area. In 2017, Carol became a Support Specialist and has worked to provide quality services for people supported by LifeQuest. Carol, thank you for your dedication to LifeQuest and the people you work with. It is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good job.”

25 YEARS Mark Limberg
Kenny Gunsch
Mark has spent his entire LifeQuest career since 2000 as the Business Manager. Mark explains, “LifeQuest isn’t just a job for me. It’s a passion and a mission to help support people. I love the customer service aspect of being able to help our staff and people supported. Every day is a new challenge and I look forward to many more years of this wonderful adventure.” Pam Hanna, Mark’s supervisor, states, “Mark’s strong characteristics of being precise and accurate contribute to the success he has had as the Business Manager for twenty years. Mark is tenacious and diligent in creating a budget each year that supports the needs of the agency, people supported and employees. Mark is our technology person, overseeing many functions that keep LifeQuest running each day. We are especially thankful to Mark for all the work he completed at the beginning of COVID -19 to enable people supported to stay connected to family/friends through the use of technology. Many appreciate Mark’s humor and willingness to share a chat. Though, be cautious, he may be telling you a fish tale, from his favorite hobby, time on the boat, with his fishing pole in the water. Congratulations Mark.”
Kenny started at LifeQuest in 1995 as a DSP for North Kimball House and day services until becoming a Health Support Professional in 1998. Kenny expresses, “It has been a privilege to work at LifeQuest for the past 25 years, LifeQuest goes beyond the basics to make dreams come true for the people we support. I enjoy watching the achievements and accomplishments of the folks at LifeQuest, especially knowing that I have contributed to enhancing their lives!” Julie Gregory, Kenny’s supervisor has this to say, “Kenny is a genuine people person and 25 years of service to people with disabilities brings out the best in Kenny.”
Lynette Kingsbury
Lynette began working as a housekeeper in 1995, after a few months she moved to her current position as a Health Support Professional. Lynette explains, “I have truly enjoyed the past 25 years as a LifeQuest employee. I feel a sense of pride when I can help someone to succeed in bettering themselves and their health. LifeQuest is caring organization that I’m proud to be a part of.” Lynette’s supervisor, Julie Gregory, points out, “Lynette is the hub of our group. She puts her heart into her supports for the folks at LifeQuest, every single day!”
Michele Meservey
Michele has been a DSP in several locations including Centennial, Gamble Street Apartments and day services since her start in 2000. Michele states, “In twenty years I have seen many lives change for the better because of the dedicated staff at LifeQuest. I have also made friendships that I will cherish forever.” Michele’s supervisor, Menetta Rassel, points out, “People love working with Michele because she has such a fun personality. She brings stability and structure to people’s days while making it enjoyable.
30 YEARS Jeannie Johnson
Jeannie has spent her entire LifeQuest career which started in 1990 as a day services DSP. Jeannie states, “I have enjoyed working at LifeQuest and with the people supported over the past thirty years. The peoples smiles and excitement over their successes and accomplishments are priceless! They are and always will be a special part of my life.” Jeannie’s supervisor, Menetta Rassel, expresses, “Jeannie is so dedicated and reliable. People seem to light up when Jeannie walks in the room. She encourages people to advocate for themselves and teaches them to be more independent.”
Jeanie Morgan
Jeanie started as a DSP in 2000 where she had the opportunity to work in several locations including Gamble Street Apartments, East Elm House, Career Connections, and day services. She was named supervisor for North Kimball and McLeod Houses in 2017. Jeanie states, “I enjoy coming to work every day because of the amazing relationships I have developed with the people we support and staff. 20 years went by so fast, that is how you definitely know you have a great job! LifeQuest treats you like family and shows their appreciation in so many ways!” Kacee Regan, Jeanie’s supervisor, expresses, “Jeanie and I have a long history of working together during her 20 years at LifeQuest. Although there have been many changes over the years, the things that always remain the same is Jeanie’s huge heart and her big ideas! Jeanie has a true passion for people and is their biggest advocate, fan, and friend. Often from that passion big ideas are born! Jeanie is creative, compassionate and is always willing to help others. Jeanie, thanks for your years of services and your commitment to LifeQuest!”
40 YEARS
Ronda Vetch
Ronda has been a day services DSP since her start with LifeQuest in 2000. Ronda has this to say, “Working for LifeQuest the past 20 years has been so rewarding and I feel very blessed to be a part of this team. Supporting people in working towards their dreams and goals has developed into many great relationships not only with the people supported but also with family members and staff.” Ronda’s supervisor, Mike Sejnoha, states, “Ronda has worked with us through so many ups and downs both in her own life and in the lives of the people we support. It’s her dedication and professionalism that really make LifeQuest the quality agency that it is.”

Leonard Heckel
Leonard has been an overnight DSP at North Kimball House since1980; until he went to Centennial Apartments in 2014. Leonard explains, “There are many reasons I have enjoyed working at LifeQuest. I like working with the people, teaching them new living skills, the work environment, and just being a part of the great LifeQuest family, to name a few.” Vick Steffes, Leonard’s supervisor, points out, “Leonard is a very dedicated Direct Support Professional. He is always reliable. He will come to work through any kind of obstacle. Be it flooding, blizzards, or a deer hitting his car, nothing stops him from getting to his shift. He is always willing to assist with filling in at Centennial Apartments or at any of our other programs when needed. Leonard’s commitment to teamwork is impeccable. Congratulations on completing 40 years of service to LifeQuest which is amazing and greatly appreciated. Leonard you are a great asset to LifeQuest and we are proud to have you as a part of the Centennial team.”
