Holiday magic at Kitty Hawk Elementary There was magic in the gym Thursday morning at Kitty Hawk Elementary. “Students and staff gathered together in their pajamas for the reading of The Polar Express,” noted the school. “They listened to the conductor as he shouted ‘All Aboard’ and then he made the story come alive as he read from the book. Suddenly there were teachers dancing and students singing as the train chugged toward the north. The special teachers continued highlighting this literacy event the rest of the day with stations where snowballs were tossed at word endings and our senses were tested as we smelled spices like cinnamon and peppermint oil.” Fifth grade Falcons and kindergarten Falcons enjoyed time together with reading buddies to end the day. “Thank you to our PTO volunteers for serving us all hot chocolate throughout the day. A huge thank you to all the teachers and staff who worked on

planning, choreographing, and putting together all the magical pieces that made this day such a sweet memory for all,” noted the school. “We hope all our Falcon Families find a way to experience the magic of the season as you gather with friends and families over the winter break.”
