The Cliffs at Mountain Park Announces New Sports Pavilion Designed by Summerour Architects Long Awaited Amenity Embodies The Cliffs’ Commitment to Wellness and Inspired Design, Follows Recent Land Release and Exciting Development News in Greenville-Area Community TRAVELERS REST, S.C., October 2025 – Thoughtfully designed by acclaimed Atlanta firm, Summerour Architects, and built by Greenville-based general contractor, Trehel – who have worked on multiple projects throughout The Cliffs’ communities – the new Sports Pavilion at The Cliffs at Mountain Park is rooted in The Cliffs’ foundational philosophy of ‘designing with nature’. Seamlessly integrated into its natural surroundings and offering standout experiences for every age and interest, the Sports Pavilion is poised to become a vibrant hub for recreation and social engagement, packed with features designed to elevate daily life for residents and their guests, all set against the natural beauty of the Carolina mountains. Summerour Architects, known for helping to create and update some of the country’s most renowned luxury properties—including Blackberry Farm in Tennessee, Cataloochee Ranch in North Carolina, and Sea Island in Georgia—has designed a space that incorporates the sublime setting while fostering both physical exercise and social interaction, blurring the divisions between the natural environment and the built one. Intentionally designed to mirror the rustic charm of the surrounding landscape, with architecture that feels both elevated and deeply rooted in place, the new Sports Pavilion is centered on a 7,000 square foot (190,000 gallon) resort-style pool with private cabanas, locker rooms, and a splash pad with playground. The racquet sport offerings include two tennis courts, four pickleball courts, and two courts for padel, a fast-growing international sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. These new padel courts are the first of their kind at a private community in South Carolina, signaling The Cliffs’ commitment to evolving with its members’ interests. Conceived with versatility and familyfriendly design as the guiding principles, this exciting new amenity also features a covered dining area with full food and beverage service offering upscale casual fare, an outdoor amphitheater for cultural and community events as well as a dog park and children’s playground. “With the arrival of the Sports Pavilion, The Cliffs at Mountain Park has a new destination for neighbors to gather outside as a community and enjoy the scenic surroundings accompanied by an incredible slate of best-in-class amenities. We take pride in collaborating with exceptional architects like Keith Summerour, whose vision helps bring these spaces to life,” said Chris Calloway, Vice President of Homebuilding & Operations at South Street Partners. Conveniently situated near The Cabin at Mountain Park, the new complex is a beautiful complement to Mountain Park’s dazzling Gary Player links-style course – designed to integrate nature with old-school golf elements – and the community’s beloved gathering place, The Cabin, where members enjoy camaraderie and breathtaking mountain views on the veranda. Trehel has also begun construction on the community’s new Wellness Center which will further enhance The Cliffs’ focus on the health and wellbeing of its Members.
