ARDA efforts have been ramped up to gain control of an Ennis feud which has been labelled a “turf war”. In the past week, multiple connected events have occurred, all of which are linked to a family feud where violence has escalated.

Among the incidents to have took place include the burning down of three caravans in Doora, the firebombing of a grave in Drumcliffe Cemetery, the discharging of a firearm in Cloughleigh and a hit and run at Gaurus. An incident room has been set up at Ennis Garda Station with members of the public that witnessed the incidents
or possess further information urged to come forward. Armed support units have been deployed to the county during searches for personnel involved. “I have a deep concern with the escalation of a turf war which is putting innocent people at risk,” Ennis based Cllr Johnny Flynn (FG) told The Clare Echo.
