SPRING 2026 NEWSLETTER UPDATES FROM THE GUILD A mother and her child with a disability experienced an unexpected crisis in December when her partner, the sole provider, abruptly left the household just before Christmas. Among the urgent needs the family had to fill were food, heat, and rent. Faced with a decision about what to prioritize, which would you choose? These are the kinds of questions our clients grapple with every day. An abrupt change in circumstances can throw your whole world into disarray. This family initially reached out to Brockton Public Schools and, through our partnership with BPS, The Charity Guild was able to coordinate an emergency food package and enroll the family in the Brockton Area Hunger Network (BAHN) Cooperative, ensuring continued food support. In addition to serving up to 2,000 community members each month, we strive to respond swiftly when we learn of emergency situations such as this. Aiding families in distress has been a hallmark of The Guild for its entire 55-year history. It is your support that makes this relief possible.
