According to the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties since school age children are off from school, many miss free meal programs provided by their schools. This puts an enormous demand on local food pantries and ultimately the FoodBank itself. The FoodBank acts as a distribution center providing food to most local food pantries in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.
Here is a current list of the most needed items. *Please remember, No glass containers. Non-Perishable: • Canned Tuna, Chicken, Salmon (in water) • Canned Fruits (packed in juice or light syrup) • Canned Vegetables (low sodium or no-added salt) • Natural unsweetened applesauce • Brown, Wild, White Rice • Peanut Butter & Jelly • Pasta (whole grain preferred) • Canned or dry beans, peas, lentils • 100% juice boxes • Healthy snacks • Unsalted Nuts • Hot & Cold Cereal (low sugar preferred) • Cooking Oils • Ready-to-eat Canned Meals • Canned Dry Beans
