MAIN STREET ALLIANCE CHURCH RECEIVES CAUSEWAY’S “CAUSEWHEELS” VEHICLE DONATION By Kaitlyn Strohmeier
With the celebration of The Causeway Family of Dealerships 50th anniversary coming to an end, we continue with a new year long campaign – “CauseWheels” Vehicle Donation Program - to help our neighbors and to positively impact Ocean County.
Full calendar at: thesandpaper.villagesoup.com
Recently, Causeway had two requests for vehicle donations to local non-profit organizations, both of which we were able to accommodate. This prompted an idea to follow up last year’s 50th Anniversary Grant program with “CauseWheels,” a program through which Causeway will award a used vehicle to one Ocean County non-profit every month, from January through December of 2020. We are proud to announce our January Winner: Main Street Alliance Church, the “church with the flags” located on Route 9 in Manahawkin. Main Street Alliance is a Christ-centered Christian & Missionary Alliance church, focused on knowing Jesus and making Him known here, there, and everywhere. The former King of Kings Community Church underwent a redevelopment plan in 2017, beginning as “Fresh Start,” and is now Main Street Alliance Church. King of Kings Community Church opened its doors on Bay Avenue in 1993 and moved to Route 9 in 2004. At that time they had approximately 500 people utilizing the church. Unfortunately, as Hurricane Sandy hit our community hard, the church began to see a decrease in attendees. In 2017, roughly 27 people were left utilizing the space and it seemed the only option was to close the doors.
