The Catholic Spirit & Father Dennis Dempsey Friday, Sept 21, 2012 • USA/Dublin Tour members depart Minneapolis/St. Paul on an overnight flight to Dublin, Ireland. Saturday, Sept 22 • Arrive in Dublin and meet with Tour Guide, Conor Ellard and board a coach for Galway. Upon arrival in Galway, we will board the Corrib Princess for a leisurely one hour cruise on Lough Corrib with some refreshments Cliffs of Moher served on board. The cruise will be followed by Mass at The Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St. Nicholas. Check in and enjoy a welcome dinner at our hotel in Galway. Overnight in Galway.
Monday, Sept 24 • Travel to the Marian Shrine of Knock where Our Lady appeared in August of 1879. Pope John Paul II made a visit in September of 1979. Following Mass in Knock, we will travel to Westport and view the Pilgrim Mountain of Croagh Patrick. On our return to Galway, we will visit the very historic Ballintubber Abbey. Dinner and overnight in Galway. Tuesday, September 25 • Following breakfast and checkout of hotel, we will depart Galway and travel through The Burren Region of County Clare to The Cliffs of Moher. These Cliffs are over 600 feet above sea level and offer great views of the Atlantic Coastline and also the Aran Islands. Ross Castle Continuing on to the pretty town of Kilrush for free time and lunch followed by a ferry trip across the River Shannon to County Kerry. We will continue our journey to Killarney for evening Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Dinner at hotel and overnight in Killarney.
Sunday, Sept 23 • Following breakfast, we will travel through the splendid Inagh Valley to the magnificent Kylemore Abbey in Connemara. This is a Benedictine Abbey surrounded by beautiful scenery. We will attend Mass at a little Gothic church at Kylemore followed by free time to explore the grounds.
Wednesday, Sept 26 • Travel along the famous Ring of Kerry route visiting the Kerry Bog Village and Kells Sheep Dog Display along with visits to the towns of Caherciveen and Waterville. We will attend Mass at The O’Connell Memorial Church in Caherciveen. Overnight in Killarney.
Return to Galway for a short walking tour in the city known as The City of Tribes. Evening free and overnight in Galway.
Thursday, Sept 27 • Spend a full day in Killarney with a Jaunting Cart Ride, visit to Ross Castle and Muckross House with the afternoon free. Overnight in Killarney. We will attend Mass at The Franciscan Friary
Friday, Sept 28 • Check out and depart Killarney for the Village of Murroe and a very special visit with the Monks of Glenstal Abbey. At the Abbey, we will meet with the Monks, view the grounds, visit the Icon Chapel and attend Mass which will include Gregorian Chant. We will also have an opportunity to meet with acclaimed Irish singer, Noirin Ni Riain. Overnight and dinner at The Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick. Saturday, Sept 29 • Before departing Limerick, will attend Mass at The Holy Trinity Abbey Church in Adare. Depart Limerick for the town of Kildare and the famous St. Brigid’s Well and a meeting with the Brigidine Sisters, keepers of the flame of St. Brigid. This will Dublin be followed by a visit to The Irish National Stud Farm. Afternoon arrival in Dublin with a sightseeing tour of the city. Dinner at hotel and overnight in Dublin.
