Care Workers “Should Be Rewarded But Funds Limited” Says Care Minister
Care Minister Helen Whately faced tough questioning from the Health and Social Care Committee earlier this week, (May 2nd) about the government's recent announcement of a £250 million investment to support the social care workforce, despite a previous pledge to invest twice that sum. Defending the government’s commitment to social care social Ms Whately
said that she wants to see workers in the sector rewarded, stating that, said she feels “very strongly” that reform and investment within training and career progression in social care must go alongside funding for workers’ pay.
