Campaigners Demand Residents Legal Right to Visitors During Lockdowns
A coalition of over 50 organisations is calling on the Government to protect in law the support of family carers across health and care settings. The broad spectrum of organisations came together to express their belief that people in vulnerable situations should never be separated from the support
of their carers, whether that be partners, parents, children, siblings or friends. According to figures from the Office for National Statistics, 173,974 care home residents died between March 2020 and April 2021, with 42,341 involving Covid.
