Ombudsman Calls for Reform of Adult Care Complaints System “Mandate for Change Needed”
The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has issued an urgent call for fundamental reform of the complaints system, as findings reveal that eight in ten residential care complaints are upheld. The organisation's latest annual complaints review, published earlier this month, presents comprehensive data from all complaints received during the
preceding twelve months across both independent and local authority-funded care services. The findings reveal a significant 8% increase in adult social care complaints compared to the previous year, accompanied by a notable 28% rise in disputes relating to charging arrangements.
