Sector Unites in Urgent Call for “Significant Social Care Funding” A powerful coalition of up to 100 organisations from across the adult social care sector has issued an urgent call to the UK Government, warning that without immediate intervention, the sector faces one of its most perilous periods in recent memory. The Local Government Association (LGA) has brought together stakeholders – including Care England, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, the
National Care Forum, The Homecare Association and a wide range of other national and local bodies to sign a joint statement. The signatories warn that the scope for savings and efficiencies is now “extremely limited”, saying “the clear reality is that current funding levels are insufficient to tackle the challenges facing the sector”.
