The Global financial system needed desperate restructuring, and the year 2035 saw the imposition of a Global Carbon Tax of 73%, drastically redistributing globally held wealth. The Planet was now on the path to equilibrium, and culture as a whole was now invested heavily in slowing down.
Travelling became 18 times more expensive, and the Luxury travel industry completely buckled under the new tax regime, forcing entire fleets into retirement and repurposing. Private jets had been unanimously decommissioned, and grounded permanently.
