True Blue Farms is owned and operated by Dennis & Shelly Hartmann. Blueberry farming has been a long time tradition in our family, dating back four generations to the mid 1900’s.

In 1990, we started our first farm with just 10 acres of blueberries. As of today, True Blue Farms is now one of the largest growers in North America, producing and marketing millions of pounds of premium quality blueberries.

True Blue Farms is located in Southwest Michigan’s “Blueberry Capital of the World”, just a few miles inland from the shores of Lake Michigan.

Fruit production in the Fruit Belt would be impossible without its unique environment. Climate is moderated in the region by what is referred to as “lake effect.” The phenomenon keeps the area warmer when it’s cold, and cooler when it’s warm.

“The Blueberry Store Is Always In Season”

The Blueberry Store opened its doors in the fall of 1990. In 2007, Dennis and Shelly Hartmann, owners of True Blue Farms, found themselves in a position to purchase The Blueberry Store. They leapt at the opportunity to take on a new challenge. They brought with them a fresh perspective and the ambition to do something more, something better.

Because they were already growing and processing blueberries, they thought it made sense to have The Blueberry Store products made with their fruit. That’s right, every product is made with only the best quality blueberries, giving it a sweet soulful flavor that only Michigan Blueberries can offer.

Currently, The Blueberry Store has three locations to serve you. TBF Sales, the warehouse location, specializes in wholesale, online, and catalog sales. The Country Store is open July through August and features u-pick blueberries from True Blue Farms; as well as an assortment of blueberry products. The official retail location, The Blueberry Store, is located in beautiful downtown South Haven, Michigan. The Blueberry Store offers gourmet sampling as well as a large retail selection of blueberry products that can’t be matched!
