Easter Day 17th April 2022, things you can do for Fun at all ages this EASTER.... How to make natural Easter egg dye

It’s not just food colourings that make great Easter egg dyes. Plenty of everyday ingredients can be used to dye your Easter eggs! Natural Easter egg dye can give your eggs a lovely matt pastel colour and look beautiful decorating the Easter table and it’s fun to do too as each egg batch looks unique.

You will need: Eggs. We recommend white or pale blue eggs as they take up the colour of the natural dye the best, if you can find these. Beetroot Red cabbage Turmeric White vinegar Glass jars (3) Step 1: Make your dyes First boil your eggs in a pan for about 10 minutes. While your eggs are boiling you can start making your natural dyes. Chop up half a red cabbage. Chop up a few beetroot (you can roast them yourself of buy them ready cooked to save time). Pop the cabbage in one pan, the beetroot in another, then cover with water. You need to add the same amount of water as your vegetables. You can measure them out, so if there’s one bowl of cabbage add one bowl of water. Or you can just eyeball it. It doesn’t have to be exact. In the third pan add a bowl of water and then two large tablespoons of turmeric. Bring all three pans of dye to the boil and let them simmer for a good 30 minutes. Step 2: Finish your dyes After your pans of water and ingredients have simmered for 30 minutes, take them off the heat. Set out 3 glass jars. Using a sieve strain the beetroot and red cabbage and pour the liquid into each of the glass jars, simply stir the yellow dye with the turmeric to make sure it’s all dissolved and pour it into a jar too, Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to each dye. Now leave them to cool to room temperature.

Step 3: Dye your eggs Once the dyes are cool carefully lower your eggs into the jars, making sure they are entirely submerged. Leave them in the dye for a few hours. The longer you leave them the darker the colour will be. We left the eggs in the blue and yellow dyes for about 3 hours. We left the eggs in the red dye overnight in the refrigerator. Now take out your eggs from the jars with a slotted spoon and lay out somewhere to dry.

Lay out your pastel eggs in bowls or little nests for Easter day! Don’t they look beautiful? 3

Koryphon Academy Offically Opens About Koryphon Academy, Alternate Metaverse Grid

Before opening Alternate Metaverse Grid (AMV) to the public on December 5th 2020, We made a bold decision to step forward in the OpenSim Metaverse to provide educational opportunities to all people - on all grids. Since that time, we have accomplished this and have taught many students both on and off Alternate Metaverse Grid. We have brought subjects such as basic Building for beginners, to Creating houses using blueprints and in World Sound Creation and some very unique classes such as Chakra Awareness, Sacred Geometry and Meditation. Koryphon Academy Expands! On March 19th 2022 Koryphon Academy opens its doors to the public at our brand new Campus at alternatemetaverse.com:8002:Koryphon Academy The New Campus includes A new Main School Building, A Learning Annex, Several Outdoor Classrooms, 4 Sky Classrooms, Soundscape Builds, Expanded Build Areas x2, Terraforming Class Areas x2, A Sandbox open to all, a Speed Build Arena for upcoming Build Contests, A Photographic Art Gallery, a 2D & 3D Art Gallery, The Java House Club/Cafe', A Beach area, Stonehenge Firepit Discussion Area, Housing For Teachers, the Annex includes a Lounge and Cafeteria Open to all. There are Two avenues of extension for special classes - "Chakras In Motion" - The Wisdom & Enlightenment Center and "The Seed" - Self Empowerment & Mind and Body Magic & Healing, they are both located at alternatemetaverse.com:8002:Magic Towards the end of 2021 was added another extended avenue of Education Called "The Seed" - Self awareness, empowerment and enlightenment, The Owner & Creator of Koryphon Academy, Cataplexia, has been an Instructor for the staff of Alternate Metaverse Grid since 2019, her passion is in "The Seed & Chakras In Motion" where Cataplexia Numbers is a Certified Level 3 Usui Reiki Master Teaching Chakra Awareness – Sensation, Manipulation, Practical Application and Healing, Sacred Love, Meditation in the virtual world for 16 years and having Real life Nursing Skills are incorporated into her knowledge of Chakras, Meditation and Healing through Reiki and Universal Energy. Koryphon Academy would also like to announce our new Dean Of Education - Xenon Darrow. Xenon comes to us with a lengthy history of Educational Development & Supervision and is bursting with new ideas for the school! Terri Bestijl remains our Assistant Dean and is friendly, helpful and well trained to help you with any needs you may have in setting up or attending classes. These facets of AMV will focus on bringing interesting and unique and helpful classes, lectures and workshops to ALL. 6

Instructors are brought here to AMV from across the OpenSim communities to provide these learning moments. If you have ideas, questions or needs of certain Virtual Life skills or are interested in sharing your knowledge with others, please contact Xenon Darrow, Dean of Education or Terri Bestijl, Assistant Dean of Koryphon Academy. The new Koryphon Academy campus is a labor of love, but beyond that it is a monumental piece of construction with 33 discrete teleport locations, the purpose is clear: to provide a campus that will handle expansion after expansion for years into the future, the challenge will be to build a teaching and student body able to engage in the education of those willing to learn -- and those able to teach. Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle would have enjoyed wandering around the grounds of Koryphon (togas optional). Clifford and Cataplexia presided at the opening ceremonies, followed by a guided tour, on March 19th, also on stage was Xenon Darrow, the new Dean, who spoke extemporaneously on the goals and objectives of the institution. Approximately 15 residents listened, as three of them spoke, Cataplexia solicited ideas for new courses, and encouraged those willing to impart what they know as volunteer members of the teaching staff. Koryphon Academy is a Free & Open Education Center offering educational and instructional courses for students from All Grids in OpenSim. Located on Alternate Metaverse Grid, (AMV) has been accomplishing this for over 2 years in Koryphon Academy and many more years in "Chakras In Motion" - The Wisdom & Enlightenment Center, an extended avenue of Koryphon Academy. Koryphon Academy focuses on bringing interesting and helpful classes, lectures and workshops to ALL using multimedia approaches and free software in some of the classes. Instructors are being gathered from across OpenSim to provide these classes. There are many physical and mental benefits of yoga. Coming Soon to Japan on the Creative Landform Region

Helps you focus and become more mindful Gives you a more positive outlook on life Creates mental clarity and calmness Enhances yoursense of gratitude Relieves chronic stress patterns Increases body awareness Helps you manage stress Sharpens concentration Gives you more energy Helps you sleep better Develops coping skills Can reduce anxiety Relaxes the mind Centers attention

How Can YOGA improve Mental Health - Yoga, Depression and Anxiety Ancient Indian practice of yoga helps maintain good mental health. Yoga harmonizes body and mind and restores our emotional balance. There is growing evidence that Yoga can have a positive impact on depression, anxiety and those who have Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). When adopted as a daily practice, yoga can help calm down the mind and prevent the development of mental illnesses. Mental illnesses in various forms have been a major health burden globally in recent years. Unhealthy lifestyles, poor eating habits and rise in work-related stress are factors that are contributing to the rising incidence of anxiety and depression. Psychotic drugs in treating anxiety and depression are effective but offer only symptomatic relief. Long-term intake of drugs often leads to dependence without preventing further illness or providing a comprehensive solution to improving mental health. Stress is the root cause of several lifestyle diseases. Yoga adopts a scientific approach of exercising and relaxing to ease the stress of modern day living. Yoga also contributes to improving memory, sleep and even quality of life in elderly persons with mild memory impairment. Here are some poses that help improve mental health besides providing other health benefits:

12

Shashankasana or child's pose: This asana stimulates your nervous system thereby re-energizing your whole body. This asana is basically a resting pose somehow resembling a child in fetal position. It is performed by sitting down on the knees and then bending forward so that the chest touches the thighs, and the forehead touches the ground. Stretch the arms forward. If performed with precision regularly, the performer will notice a sense of mental, physical, and emotional comfort descending upon him/her. Like most yoga asanas, this one, too, should be performed on an empty stomach or at least six hours after a meal. However, people suffering from high blood pressure and back pain should avoid this asana.

Vipareetakaraniasana:

This inverted pose is one of the best yoga asanas for improving blood circulation towards the head. It helps to calm anxiety, treat depression and insomnia besides regulating blood flow. This pose can be performed by lying down flat on your back. Keep the legs together. While inhaling raise the legs, buttocks and the trunk and support the hips on the palm. The trunk is held at 45 degrees angle to the ground. Breathe normally in this position. To return, lower the legs over the head and keep the hands down while exhaling. Bring the spine and the legs down.

Hasta Utthanasana:

This yoga pose is thought to be therapeutic for people suffering from high blood pressure, asthma, sinusitis, infertility and osteoporosis. It also helps to relieve mild depression and beat insomnia as it is highly beneficial as a relaxation tool. To perform this pose, stand straight. Raise your hands from the front to above your head as you inhale slowly. Bend backwards from the upper back and maintain the position with normal breathing.

Shavasana:

Lie flat on your back, keeping the body straight and hands at the sides with palms facing upwards. Close your eyes and hold the position for at least five minutes. Even pregnant women can practice this asana as it will help them prevent prenatal depression, a prevalent mental disorder in women during pregnancy. It should be noted that the above-mentioned yogic practices are to be learned in a gradual manner under the supervision of a yoga expert. Yoga enables a practitioner to expand their mental faculties and achieve a greater acceptance of self and others, which ultimately leads to calmer approach to the life. Yoga encourages practitioners to experience an open heart. Many yogic philosophers consider the entire practice to be about metaphorically connecting to our hearts. Within the chakra system, the heart lies in the middle of the seven chakras. Asanas such as arda chakrasana (back bend), kapotasana (pigeon pose), and ustrasana (camel pose) encourage the expansion of the centre of the chest which is the location of the anahata chakra, the yogic heart centre. Visualizations and pranyams in yoga also encourage open heartedness.

HEALTH IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED OR DISMISSED. Reaching out for help is one of the bravest - and most difficult - things to do when you're struggling. Helplines - also known as hotlines, crisis lines, or crisis call centres - provide immediate, emotional support to people like you, all over the world. If you're used to keeping everything to yourself, or you've never reached out to a helpline before, you may be feeling a little unsure about what to expect. This uncertainty can add additional stress or anxiety to an already difficult time. For some, knowing what to expect, or going in prepared, can help ease anxiety and make it easier to take that step. Helplines exist to provide a confidential, non-judgemental space and provide immediate support, counselling and information.

You can talk about anything!! You can contact a helpline to talk, no matter how big or small you think your issue is. You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support with what you're dealing with - the person on the other end will help you to talk through your problem and draw out insights and helpful next steps.

What is Mental Health? " The state in which your mind is from apsychological wellbeing perspective "

Mental Health vs Mental Illness Mental Health is a person's condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being Mental Illness is a clinically diagnosable illness affecting how a person thinks and feels, behaves and interacts with other people

Good mental health indicates a balanced, stable mind where there aren't any prolonged negative states, no long-term emotional imbalances or dysfunction, you can appropriately express how you feel or manage your emotions or seek the appropriate help where needed. Poor mental health indicates a feeling of not being in control with your emotions, long term negative emotions, difficulty expressing yourself emotionally, feeling alone or isolated, extremes of emotional states such as rage, suicidal thoughts, feeling disconnected. Mental health can affect your physical health.

Mental health is something that can affect anyone, our environment and bodies are changing constantly and sometimes it can be stressful. It's important to find a trusted adult you can confide in during the difficult times and celebrate the stress-free moments.

MENU OF THE MONTH St. Patrick’s Day Left Over Recipe Irish Soda Bread (Recipe) – Inside The St. Patrick’s Day Favorite This traditional bread is delicious for St. Patrick’s or any day—try this easy recipe!

Ingredients 4 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup raisins or currants (optional) 1 rounded tablespoon caraway seeds (optional) 2 cups buttermilk 1 teaspoons baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 egg yolk for brushing the top

Method Preheat oven to 375° F. In a large bowl, combine flour, soda, and salt and whisk together well. Stir in buttermilk until dough forms. Add caraway and/or raisins or currants and mix throughly. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough about 30 seconds. Dough will be sticky so just use enough flour to coat your hands. Shape into round loaf. Place dough on an ungreased baking sheet lined with a piece of parchment paper. With a serrated knife, cut a 1/2” X into the top. Lightly beat egg yolk and brush over the dough. Bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Transfer from pan to rack and let cool. This is an “Americanized” version of the traditional soda bread recipe, which didn’t contain any add-ins. You can certainly make the recipe as authentic as you’d like. Either way, it’s guaranteed to be delicious. Serve it warm, slathered with butter, toasted for breakfast— it’s also the perfect addition to your traditional St. Patrick’s Day menu! Variation: You can also brush the top of your Irish soda bread with cream or milk and add sanding sugar.
