From the Deck of the Commodore The heavy rain and sudden squalls were in danger of interfering with some of our events earlier in November. However, the swimming festival took place on the 11th and 12th. There was one sailing event, the SigniaGlobe National Dinghy Championship. Day 2 as well as the prize-giving presentation is featured on pages 4 and 5.

We have Christmas coming up and have lots of events planned. Some are featured in this edition of the Bellbuoy but notifications will be sent round by email. The Commodore’s Rum Punch Party is on Independence Day, 30th November. I hope to see as many of you as possible so please come along and enjoy a free rum punch. Food and other drinks will of course also be on sale.
Please remember that the deadline for notifying the General Manager of your intention to stand for election to the Committee next year is the 20th December. You need to be proposed and seconded by full members. Committee members are entitled to propose or second these applicants.

2023 SigniaGlobe National Dinghy Championships By Anne Tindale
The 2023 SigniaGlobe National Dinghy Championships were sailed in Carlise Bay over the last six weeks and comprised a series of fifteen races, with sailors from as young as 9 years old competing in four different classes: ILCA 6 and ILCA 4, formerly Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 respectively, O’Pen Skiff and Taz.
