ANNUAL REPORT'24

WELCOME

2024
2024 was a year defined by artistry, connection, and community for Theatre SilCo. From the Main Stage to intimate jazz nights, from youth camps to adult education programs, every moment reaffirmed our belief in theatre’s power to inspire, challenge, and unite.
This year, we welcomed first-time patrons, long-standing subscribers, and enthusiastic community members who filled our seats and our hearts. We saw record engagement in our educational initiatives, with the VIVO program and summer camps fostering creativity and confidence in hundreds of students. We expanded our reach with special events, service projects, and the launch of the Spitzmiller Service Award, honoring those whose generosity sustains our work.
The achievements in this report reflect the passion of our artists, the dedication of our staff and volunteers, and the steadfast support of our donors and audience. Together, we created unforgettable stories and strengthened the cultural fabric of our mountain community.
As we look toward 2025—our 30th Anniversary season—we carry forward the energy, innovation, and sense of belonging that defined this past year. The next chapter promises to be our boldest yet, and we are grateful to share it with you.
Welcome to our 2024 Annual Impact Report, and thank you for being part of the Theatre SilCo story.

Introduction
A LETTER FROM THE PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
As I reflect on 2024, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for all we accomplished together at Theatre SilCo. This year has been a remarkable chapter in our journey of creating exciting, relatable, and accessible mountain theatre that connects and inspires.
On our Main Stage, we brought unforgettable productions to life— each one a testament to the power of storytelling to entertain and unite us. Our Jazz and Improv shows filled the air with energy and music, proving once again that live performance is irreplaceable. Magic happens when artists and audiences meet.
Beyond the stage, our VIVO teaching artists and Education programming continued to make a profound impact. Offering free, after-school arts education to local elementary students, VIVO has become a cornerstone of our commitment to fostering creativity and opportunity for young minds. Additionally, our Education Department continued to deliver memorable and meaningful experiences to explore the arts for people of all ages.
We celebrated with vibrant Events that brought our community together in meaningful ways, reminding us why Theatre SilCo is more than just a theatre— it’s a community. None of this is possible without the generosity of our donors, the passion of our artists and staff, and the unwavering support of patrons.
As we prepare for 2025, a milestone year marking our 30th Anniversary, I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead. This landmark moment offers us the chance not only to honor our past but to dream even bigger for the future. With bold productions, innovative programs, and new opportunities for connection on the horizon, we are poised to make 2025 our most extraordinary year yet.
Thank you for being an essential part of our story, for believing in the power of theatre, and for your boundless support. Here’s to another year of powerful storytelling and to celebrating the arts together.

COLONEL DAVE TAKES SILCO
BY CARRIE BROWN-WOLF

“Theatre SilCo is something you have to experience to truly appreciate.”
When a Colonel makes a command, it’s best to listen. “Theatre SilCo is something you have to experience to truly appreciate,” says Colonel Dave Servinsky.
A longtime Theatre SilCo Flex Pass holder, Colonel Dave has seen his share of shows. “There is such variety, and the talent is so incredible that I can’t say I have a favorite. Each one leaves me on an emotional high.”
Colonel Dave has had a diverse and successful career. In addition to becoming a Colonel, he developed a Peace Operations course at the National War College, and then later served with the NATO peacekeeping force in Kosovo as the US National Representative. He earned three master’s degrees and a PhD, landing in Colorado as a senior military officer at Buckley Air Force Base. In all, Colonel Dave served thirty-seven years in the United States military.
Now, he teaches skiing at Keystone.
In addition to spending time on the slopes, Colonel Dave’s retirement has been filled with theater and music. Last year, he became SilCo’s top Flex Pass user, having used it 24 times.
“The value is incomparable. If we went to the Performing Arts Center in Denver, we’d spend three times as much, plus pay for parking. The talent is just as good, if not better, up here! It’s such a bargain. People who don’t go are really missing out.”
Colonel Dave first attended a performance at TheatreSilCo after it moved from Dillon to Silverthorne. He was hooked, and he and his wife became avid supporters. “One of our biggest fears is that we might miss a show. There’s never a bad seat at the SilCo.”
In addition to musicals and plays, Theatre SilCo offers Improv, a musical lounge series, educational programs, youth camps, and special events. There are three membership packages, the Flex Pass being the most popular. Starting at $232, subscribers enjoy ultimate flexibility by choosing performance dates and seats for any combination of the Main Stage productions.

SUPPORTER: NANCY ADAM

“Nancy found a lasting connection to Theatre SilCo.”
An attorney and longtime theatre lover, Nancy found a lasting connection to Theatre SilCo and committed to legacy giving through the 1995 Society.
Not everyone realizes the benefits of planned giving, but as an attorney, Nancy Adam does. She recently joined the 1995 Society, a group of theatre enthusiasts who have included Theatre SilCo in their estate plans.
Nancy’s love of theatre began early. Her parents went to shows in Chicago, and although they did not take Nancy along with them, she saw a production of I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road while in law school, and was hooked. Unlike her folks, Nancy exposed her kids to the theatre early. “My son saw Cats when he was 3 ½, and by the time my daughter was 10, she’d seen Phantom of the Opera at least ten times.”
After her move from Connecticut to Colorado, she became a member of The Best of Broadway and the Director’s Society
in Denver. She later joined the board of the Arvada Center and now lives in Vail. She first noticed Theatre SilCo while driving back from Steamboat. “There’s not a bad seat in the house,” she said. “My favorite production was A Christmas Carol. At first, I didn’t want to go because I’ve seen it a million times, but the show was so energetic, quick-witted, and performed with such high energy that I’m so glad I went.”
Asked why she decided to support the theatre in her planned giving, Nancy said, “We have enough challenges in life. The purpose of theatre is for enjoyment, to entertain, to feel, and to make you think. Planned giving is a safe way to contribute.”
If you’re considering Planned Giving, please join the 1995 Society. You’ll be invited to gatherings, recognized in community publications, and your name will be placed on a permanent art installation at SilCo. Most importantly, you’ll make a lasting impact on the theatre and the community.
