Boost Your Health with GarlicAIM Garlic has been recognized as a superfood with its association for many health benefits – from fighting a cold to lowering blood lipid levels. Several studies have shown that garlic and garlic supplements may have positive effects on maintaining cardiovascular and immune health. AIM’s latest nutritional supplement – GarlicAIM – provides a unique combination of three types of garlic: garlic bulb dry extract, bear garlic leaf, and garlic bulb powder from fermented black garlic, which are traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help boost cardiovascular health. Key medicinal ingredients per daily recommended dose (3 vegan capsules): ules): • Garlic bulb dry extract (Allium sativum) (510 mg) standardized to contain n 1% of allicin, which is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. es. • Bear garlic leaf (Allium ursinum) (492 mg) – this alpine wild garlic leaf contains allicin and its related forms – gamma-glutamyl peptides es and adenosine. Gamma-glutamyl peptides may have the effect on increasing the measurement across the membrane of vascular smooth ooth muscle resulting in a widening of blood vessels that helps maintain healthy blood pressure. Adenosine may help reduce blood stickiness. ss • Garlic bulb powder from fermented black garlic (90 mg) – the fermentation process alters the nutritional aspects, resulting in higher antioxidant levels and a probiotic presence in garlic.
Recommended uses: • Helps maintain cardiovascular health and reduce elevated blood lipid levels in adults. • Helps relieve the symptoms associated with upper respiratory tract infections.
Key Benefits: • Boosts heart and cardiovascular health – evidence from recent review and analysis suggests garlic has several immune-enhancing properties and has the potential to improve cardiovascular health on many levels. Garlic supplements have a high safety profile and are generally well-tolerated, which may be considered for cardiovascular health. • Offers immune support – traditionally, garlic is used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve the symptoms associated with upper respiratory tract infections and nasal congestion. In a study, 146 participants were assigned to receive either a placebo or a garlic supplement (with 180 mg allicin content) daily for 12 weeks throughout the winter. The garlic group experienced fewer colds compared to the placebo group, and recovery was faster. • Supports gut health – garlic function as a prebiotic, food for good bacteria in the gut that is tied to immunity. A study evaluated the prebiotic effectiveness of garlic fructan, one of the major components in garlic. The component was found to selectively stimulate the growth of beneficial Bifidobacteria from human fecal microflora. “Redi-Beeting” Travel Fatigue Shared by MaƩ Lau, AIM graphic designer, Vancouver, BC As a keen traveller, I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit New Zealand in the fall of 2019. If you haven’t been there yet, I think that you will be delighted by the friendly people, the spectacular scenery, and a culture that is both surprisingly similar to ours, yet exhilaratingly unique. After 20 hours of travel from Vancouver to Auckland, I immediately lunged into a week of exploring New Zealand’s capital city, two of its nearby islands, and even Hobbiton, the set for the JRR Tolkien-inspired films. However, the effects of trudging up and down the area’s steep hills and 53 volcano mounts, exacerbated by the flight fatigue and jetlag, left me exhausted with a chest tightening feeling. The humbling experience of having two young locals offer to give me a hand as I struggled up a particularly steep path led me to realize that I needed to take action. Returning home, I immediately added RediBeets to my already solid regimen of dietary habits including a daily serving of a healthy bowl of steel-cut oats breakfast porridge, exercise or brisk walking, and AIM supplements. RediBeets is a whole-food, beetroot juice powder concentrate. The unique health benefits of beetroots may be derived from a powerful phytonutrient
called betaine. This compound is recognized to have antioxidant and detoxifying effects. It is also known to play a role in reducing homocysteine. High levels of homocysteine are associated with poor cardiovascular health. Beets are also rich in natural nitrates. Through a chain reaction, your body changes nitrates into nitric oxide, which helps with blood flow. Other key benefits and features of RediBeets are powerful antioxidants such as betacyanin, which can help prevent free radical formation and promotes fast, full recovery. In early 2020, I went to Iceland and the UK, another bucketlist destinations. Though almost as far from New Zealand as anywhere on earth, I found that many of the joys and trials I experienced in my southern hemisphere explorations were largely duplicated there. However, the challenge of the hills and varied geography was dramatically heightened by the addition of snowy and icy conditions, the impact of shocking wind-chill factors, and of course, the early days of the pandemic. Despite of all these challenges, I felt stronger and better with no chest pressure, and the exertions that had sapped me in New Zealand now exhilarated me. Though a few months older, I felt a few years younger, and this wonderful effect is something I credit to having added RediBeets to my daily routine. Testimonials should not be construed as representing results that everyone can achieve.

Outstanding Health Benefits of Carrot Juice Carrot is widely cultivated across the world and is the second most popular vegetable after the potato. Its popularity probably comes from its bright, cheerful color and sweet tasty flavour. Packed with pro-vitamin A, fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, carrot is a nutritional powerhouse which provides you with many impressive health benefits. Drinking up a glass of carrot juice will let you reap even more of its nutritional values, as juicing reduces plant fibre and allow vital nutrients to become easily absorbed by the body. Here are some potential health benefits of carrot juice:
AIM Just Carrots • Helps maintain whole-body health • Provides beneficial nutrients for the eyes and skin • Made from juiced carrots with only the fibre
Highly nutritious and low in calories Carrot juice contains most of the important macro- and micro-nutrients, including alpha- and beta-carotene (provitamin A), potassium, and much more. It also provides the carotenoid pigments such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which act as antioxidants to protect your body cells from the damage of free radicals.
Helps strengthen eye health Carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin are the two important phytochemicals for protecting the lens and retina and for blocking blue light absorption. Betacarotene is vital for overall eye health and protection from ultraviolet light.

removed; each canister contains 10 kg of carrots The cold-pressed technology preserves the natural collection of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytonutrients and enzymes Tested pesticide-free No added sugars or sweeteners and artificial colouring Eliminates the task of juicing
Boosts the immune system Vitamin A in carrot juices acts as an antioxidant, fighting free radical damage and supporting immune health.
May boost heart health Carrot juice may be a good support to heart health due to its abundance of potassium. Potassium is an essential mineral that helps counteract the effects of sodium in the control of your blood pressure levels. Reference: 8 Impressive Benefits of Carrot Juice. Plant-based Mediterranean Diet Leads to More Weight Loss A recent study suggests a plant-based Mediterranean diet that contains less meat could promote better heart health and weight loss. Researchers divided 294 moderate obese participants into three groups. The first group received healthy dietary guidance and ways to increase physical activity. The second group was told to follow the same healthy dietary guidelines and a traditional Mediterranean diet, which substituted red meat for fish and poultry. The third group was advised to increase physical activity and to follow a ‘green’ Mediterranean diet—an abundance of plant-based, high-protein foods from nuts, and other ingredients to substitute for animal meat. After the 6-month trial, the ‘green’ Mediterranean group, on average, lost 6.2 kg compared to the traditional fish-poultry Mediterranean group, who lost 5.4 kg. The healthy dietary group only lost 1.5 kg. In addition, the ‘green’ Mediterranean group lost up to 8.6 cm off their waistline, whereas the traditional Mediterranean dieters lost 6.8 cm and the healthy dieters lost 4.3 cm. The ‘green’ Mediterranean group achieved a greater decrease in LDL (bad) cholesterol and blood pressure. This group also achieved a better improvement in the 10-year Framingham Risk Score, a genderspecific algorithm used to estimate the cardiovascular risk of an individual. The study indicates that a plant-based diet noticeably contributes to weight loss and decreased body fat. Nutritionists suggest increasing the intake of plant-based food such as nuts, legumes and green leafy vegetables can be an ample source of sustenance without compromising fibre and protein intake.
