Nurture Earth’s Beauty

Corporate Message

We Are All in This Together Seeing things from a different perspective can add clarity and comfort to uncertainty and uneasiness. Being able to step back and see the bigger picture alters a self-centered focus on any situation. Sometimes a visual helps. Examining where all life takes place, the perspective of planet Earth seen from distant space is the ultimate visual of the home where we all live. But where is home from an individual perspective? Imposed or chosen options are plentiful. Home may be a small boat on the rolling ocean, a spacious condo with a bird’s eye view, a flimsy shack by a still canal, a comfortable house on a quiet street. Rising into the sky from any of these dwellings until the Earth is visible in its entirety offers a borderless perspective of the only option we have for our shared home. It’s a beautiful place with good and bad, especially in the days of clear or virus-laced air. Looking at this bigger picture, a shared abode is all we have at this point in time and space. Every year, the existence of this home is celebrated on April 22 in the form of Earth Day. Perhaps this year the idea that “We are all in this together” has never been more evident given the worldwide effects of COVID-19. We can all do our part to make Earth a healthier place to be. AIM Members and those they care for can supplement with AIM products to improve and maintain their health. Independent distributors play a major role in sharing nutrition that works so that others may benefit. The AIM Companies™ does its part by sourcing sustainable ingredients that contribute to ecological and social balance.

GarlicAIM Goes North

NPN 80106721

Health Canada recently approved GarlicAIM as being safe, effective and of high quality, making this natural health product available in Canada as of March 2021. This arrival is all the more special given its unique formulation derived from whole garlic bulb, black garlic bulb and bear garlic (alpine wild garlic) leaf. The aim of introducing GarlicAIM into the product lineup was to provide a garlic supplement like no other that would also be approved in Canada. AIM’s research and development department succeeded hands down. The health benefits of GarlicAIM include support for both cardiovascular and immune health and an extraordinary amount of antioxidant activity. The formulation provides even more benefits than regular garlic, making GarlicAIM exceptional among other supplements.

Triple Garlic Difference

Each of the three ingredients becomes a part of GarlicAIM in unique ways. During a one-week period in Switzerland, alpine wild garlic leaves are harvested and swiftly washed and dried before being milled at a low temperature to provide an optimal number of beneficial compounds. To create black garlic, whole bulbs are fermented in a process that carefully regulates temperature and humidity over a period of up to four weeks. The distinctive dark color, mildly scented, sweet flavor, jelly-like texture and increased antioxidant levels are all the result of fermentation. Whole bulbs of garlic are used to produce an extract that is standardized to 1 percent allicin, an organosulfur compound that gives garlic its distinctive odor and provides the majority of its health benefits. GarlicAIM, welcome to Canada!

Member Spotlight

Changing the World Some people get a healthy nutritional advantage from a young age. Such is the case with the most recent AIM Member to join those who have what it takes: Helene McKoy, AIM Member in Darien, Illinois. “I grew up in Barbados, where we ate a variety of fruit, some vegetables and meat from animals that were raised naturally,” Helene related. “At the age of 12, I became an Adventist, so I switched to vegetarian food.” Her upbringing has helped to make Helene the extremely health-oriented individual that she is to this very day, combining mostly plant-based nutrition and regular exercise. Having a master’s in education, Helene uses her teaching skills to mentor students and assist people in

making healthy lifestyle changes. When she shares her knowledge of nutrition and AIM products, Helene is able to present a healthy example of the message she delivers. “When I meet people, I automatically observe them and listen to their concerns,” Helene explained. “I am constantly

recommending dietary changes and AIM products, especially BarleyLife and Herbal Fiberblend. I always let them know that I take these products and that you get more for your money with AIM.” One example of Helene’s caring nature occurred when the mother of one of her students introduced her to a woman who was having issues with swollen hands and feet. “After I shared the benefits of BarleyLife, she bought some. In a few months, she was well enough to travel to her family’s home in Ghana and take part in celebrations,” Helene recounted. “Later, I was shown a 4

video of this woman dancing with family and friends in Africa. I said ‘Wow! She really did get better.’” Helene’s desire to help others goes back as far as her days as a student at Andrews University. She mentored teens, helping to create and implement a summer learning program. Along with being a guidance counselor for eight years, Helene also assisted in starting a ladies’ group and aided in a teen parenting program, serving as a role

model for young mothers. “I also enthusiastically share the good news of the gospel. I have given out hundreds of Christian books, provided links for sermons and bible studies and prayed for people. I feel that I have what it takes to be a “world changer” when it comes to sharing this good news and good health.”

Testimonials should not be construed as representing results that everyone can achieve.

The World of

Phytonutrients

Chemicals are often associated with something unnatural or harmful, negatively affecting our health through exposure or consumption. Then again, certain chemicals are essential for good health. If you’re familiar with the periodic table of elements, you might recall some of the symbols for chemicals that are naturally present in the environment. AIM Members may recognize the Ca symbol for the calcium found in CalciAIM and the Se for the selenium in Proancynol 2000. Both chemical elements are essential minerals for our bodies. This brings us to the world of phytonutrients—plant chemicals that provide healthy benefits. According to Merriam-Webster, the term phytonutrient (plant nutrient) was first used in 1994, possibly to provide a bit of separation from the negative connotation of phytochemical. For their own survival, plants manufacture natural chemicals that turn out to be beneficial for us. The vast array of plant nutrients and phytonutrients is the biggest benefit of a primarily plant-based diet.

6

Nutrients vs. Phytonutrients

Nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, minerals, protein and vitamins are considered to be essential for life whether in large or small amounts. Phytonutrients that include carotenoids, flavonoids and isothiocyanates are beneficial for our health but not considered essential. AIM Members are likely to see it differently. Take BarleyLife as an example. This barley leaf juice powder provides a variety of nutrients, including calcium, vitamin K and protein, and hundreds of phytonutrients, most of which have yet to be researched for their possible benefits. Three key phytonutrients in BarleyLife are powerful antioxidants: superoxide dismutase, lutonarin and saponarin. Most AIM Members make BarleyLife an essential part of their whole-food nutrition, increasing their daily intake of beneficial nutrients and phytonutrients that make a world of difference in their health.

The Garden Trio Way How do you start your day? Many AIM Members begin their mornings with an incredibly beneficial boost from the Garden Trio, providing a healthy beginning for the hours ahead. One of the many conveniences of choosing to supplement your nutritional intake with BarleyLife, Just Carrots and RediBeets is the ability to harvest a garden of richness each and every day of the year. It’s always the right season for the Garden Trio.

first grown by the Dutch as early as the 16th century. When it comes to cultivating the carrots that become the juice powder in Just Carrots, AIM uses farming techniques that avoid pesticides. This ensures a pesticide-free crop of carrots that are cold-pressed into a juice that becomes nutritious Just Carrots powder, particularly rich in vitamin A.

BarleyLife

Cultivating beets as a root vegetable for consumption is said to have first occurred in Europe in the 16th century. Today, just like fields of barley grass and carrots, AIM uses the same farming techniques to grow crops of beets. Cold-pressed juicing turns these healthy vegetables into the red powder of RediBeets, providing a wide variety of nutrients and a rich source of nitricoxide-producing nitrate . Supplemental plant-based nutrition from the Garden Trio is a nourishing way to start your day and enhance it along the way.

Accessing the abundant and diverse nutrients and phytonutrients that can only be found in young barley leaves is accomplished by AIM’s exclusive methodology to turn freshly harvested barley grass into a juice powder. For nearly four decades, AIM has endeavoured to optimize the planting, growing and harvesting of barley grass. AIM’s proprietary, coldpressed juicing process results in a powder that is bursting with beneficial nutrition that includes antioxidants, chlorophyll, enzymes, minerals, vitamins and unique plant compounds. It’s this combination of naturally balanced nutrients and phytonutrients that puts the life in each canister of BarleyLife.

Just Carrots

Another nourishing choice from the garden is the cultivated carrot, one of the most important root vegetables. It is believed that orange carrots were

Business Feature

Youthful Perspective on an AIM Bu The last quarter of 2020 generated an interesting twist for AIM Chairman’s Club Director Carolyn Kling-Keech. A welcome investigation of sorts. Professor Brooke Adamson at Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) called Carolyn with the intent of using her Green Barley Nutrition Center for a sixweek study to be conducted by a group of her marketing students. Carolyn’s business in Nampa, Idaho, was one of four businesses chosen for student projects. “I felt honored that they would want to study my business,” Carolyn stated. As for going under the microscope and being analyzed by this group of young minds, Carolyn welcomed the opportunity. “It could have been a little stressful but really wasn’t because I felt secure in what my business is,” Carolyn explained. “I wanted to get their input because I never want to

get to the point where I stop learning. You have to grow with the times. If AIM or any of us didn't change and grow, we wouldn’t last very long.”

Setting an Example

First and foremost, for the young enquiring minds who set out to analyze her operation, Carolyn sets a fine physical example at the age of 88. “I'm in really good health and on purpose about being healthy and taking care of myself,” Carolyn related. “I exercise regularly and live what I teach. It’s really important to me to be healthy because that's how I built my downline on the AIM products.”

Goals and Recognition

Like many AIM independent distributors, one of Carolyn’s goals is to reach a younger clientele, including college students who represent a viable market for supplements. In fact, for about 12 years NNU athletes had been given complimentary BarleyLife through Carolyn’s business, so she had already built up a relationship with this part of the student population as well as the coaches. “They need their athletes to be well,” Carolyn acknowledged. This kindness was noted in the “Strategic Public Relations Plan” that the students presented to Carolyn after finishing their project. Along with her example of going beyond the norms of business, the study group included AIM’s core values: • Respect for the individual • Commitment to excellence • Dedication to customer service • Success through personal initiative

Business

Carolyn KlingKling-Keech AIM Member and owner of Green Barley Nutrition Center

The Plan

The marketing students recognized that the Green Barley Nutrition Center was “already a healthy and thriving organization.” And relating to one of Carolyn’s goal, the group noted that her current demographic was primarily made up of middle-aged to older individuals and needed to expand to younger generations. Three determinations were made to reach this goal: 1. Increased Website Customization Noting that AIM provides Members with free websites with easy-to-use customization tools, the students determined that further personalization of her website will increase connections with a younger audience. 2. Increased Social Media Usage Increasing a social media presence and having a staff member to maintain weekly posts will help to achieve the goal of attracting younger customers along with encouraging their feedback via online platforms, all of which are free.

As noted by these perceptive marketing students, making these changes will help to grow Carolyn’s established business even more. “I’m excited about what the internet can do,” Carolyn affirmed. “I now have a savvy young lady, Tilly Williams, who can help me. That's going to be another big aspect of my business.” Nevertheless, the personal touch will remain a significant part of how Carolyn interacts with her downline and community. “We’ll never ever circumvent the personal relationship,” Carolyn stated. “At the same time, we will connect with young people via social media. It’s the way of the future.”

3. Continuing Collaboration with NNU Athletes Resuming the relationship with coaches at NNU possibly through personal contact or targeted emails could result in a sustainable partnership that draws in athletes, who would benefit from Carolyn’s free counseling sessions.

Did you know … ?

Since ancient times, psyllium (Plantago ovata) has been used in India and China for a variety of ailments, including constipation and diarrhea. Near the end of the twentieth century in North America, psyllium gained prominence as a fiber supplement. The seeds of the plant are covered in fiber-rich husks, which are removed in flat-stone mills that crush the seeds to separate the fibrous coating. Psyllium husks provide a super source of supplemental fiber. bit.ly/PsylliumFacts

Fiber is one of the dietary nutrients required for good health, yet it is associated with underconsumption due to low intakes of vegetables, fruit and whole grains. bit.ly/FiberDeficiency
