CEO Message

As you can perhaps tell from my own personal passion for, and excitement in, podcasting, and my genuine thrill at having such insightful and detailed conversations with some of the world’s top energy, policy, and thought leaders, EIC’s fastest growing promotional platform in 2025 was indeed audio podcasting, and so we are super excited to now be launching video podcasting as a further option to help EIC cement its position as the world’s voice of the energy supply chain.

EIC VIDEO PODCASTS ARE COMING

After the huge success of EIC’s audio podcasts, which we launched in 2025, we are now delighted to confirm that we will be launching EIC video podcasts in 2026. Now is your chance to secure a prime sponsorship position with EIC as our Platinum Podcast Partner for some or all of our 2026 video podcast content. HIGHLIGHTS

Bankable Energies 2026 wrapped up in London after a full day of in-depth discussions focused on improving bankability and accelerating the transition of energy projects from design to delivery. A key takeaway from the conference was that bankability extends beyond simply securing financing. It depends on long-term visibility, effective risk allocation, and the ability to sustain momentum from concept through to grid

Energy Intelligence with the EIC API

T he EIC API enables companies to access EIC’s project and company data directly within their own systems, supporting more efficient workflows and integration of up to date intelligence. Leading organisations are already seeing the benefits. As HKA, a global consultancy firm, shares from its experience:

connection. Expert speakers included Sizewell C, Equinor, CIP Terra Technologies, Lloyd’s Register, Worley, EET, KPMG, DESNZ, HSBC, and more. We look forward to welcoming you to Bankable Energies 2027 in March next year. On Monday 16 March, senior leaders from over 20 member organisations gathered in London to discuss the de industrialisation of the UK. This marked the first meeting of the Directorate of the Energy Supply Chain (DESC) Committee, established to guide and strengthen our policy and advocacy efforts on behalf of our members.

“Our company recently incorporated the EIC API into our global subscription. We are using it internally to assist with the research and tracking of various key account clients we work for.”

The 10th edition of Survive & Thrive will be released in July, featuring contributions from over 150 companies across the energy sector. This milestone edition will bring together valuable industry insights and perspectives.

News

ational Assets and Decommissioning

I contributed to our recently released Asia Pacific hydrogen report, and some key findings on the operational landscape show that the hydrogen sector in Asia Pacific remains largely dominated by grey hydrogen production, with only a few hydrogen liquefaction facilities currently operating. Most existing green hydrogen installations in the region are small-scale demonstration or pilot projects, while larger electrolysers are found mainly in key markets like India, Japan, and Australia.

EICDataStream News

EICDataStream is currently tracking a fleet renewal and expansion programme by Petrobras and its subsidiary Transpetro aimed at increasing transportation capacity of refined products and reducing Petrobras’ reliance on chartered vessels.

EICDataStream estimates around US$6.12bn in newbuild investments, with three open tenders and 17 contracts already awarded to international and Brazilian shipyards. In the latest tender to build four MR1 tankers, four companies submitted bids, with the lowest offer coming from a Brazilian shipyard.

EIC Datacentre News

As EIC’s data centre database continues to expand, more than 300 ongoing projects are currently being tracked worldwide. North America accounts for the largest share at 54%, followed by Europe at 24%. Asia, Australasia, and the Indian Subcontinent represent 17% of projects, while the Middle East and South America together account for 5%. The growing pipeline reflects sustained global investment in hyperscale infrastructure and rising demand for digital and AI-driven compute capacity.

EIC Consult News

Fresh off a new consultancy win with a leading renewables developer, EIC Consult is going to be looking into permitting timelines for onshore wind and solar across key European markets come April. We’ll be using our data to analyse how fast projects move through permitting to construction with an emphasis on the regulations, roadblocks, and real-world factors that can influence this.

EICSupplyMap

Expands With Key Industry Contacts

Work is underway by our analysts to add details of major developers and operators into EICSupplyMap. As part of this work the team are also compiling details on key contacts for these organisations, while also adding details of ‘Procurement’ and ‘Supply Chain’ professionals to the global EPC and OEM Supplier records in the database. Stay tuned on our social media channels for further announcements on this new benefit for members.

Hydrogen momentum in Asia-Pacific is slowing as projects struggle to advance beyond early stages, with weak offtake demand, infrastructure gaps and supply-chain constraints delaying progress, according to the latest EIC Asia Pacific Hydrogen Report.

Data from EIC shows 221 hydrogen projects proposed across the region, representing around $407bn in potential investment. Australia and India lead the pipeline, with Australia accounting for about $240bn across 63 projects and India contributing roughly $105bn from 60 projects, as both countries position themselves as major future producers.

However, the market remains at an early stage. Of the region’s 56.35GW green hydrogen pipeline, only 6.46GW is currently under construction, while contract awards have slowed significantly, dropping to 27 in 2025 from 54 the previous year.

The report highlights that many large-scale export projects and hydrogen hubs remain stalled at feasibility due to weak offtake

certainty, permitting delays, infrastructure shortfalls and supplychain constraints, raising doubts over how quickly projects can reach final investment decisions. Investment is also concentrated. Australia dominates total planned spending despite several projects being delayed or scaled back, while India is showing stronger execution supported by policy-backed demand and earlier buyer alignment.

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS/ CCUS) is rapidly emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic energy transition frontiers. According to EIC, DataStream, 37 CCS/CCUS projects are currently being tracked across ASEAN, representing USD 17.52 billion in CAPEX through 2032. Malaysia and Indonesia continue to strengthen their roles as regional hubs — with Malaysia leading both in project count and investment, supported by rising EPC activity and several projects now moving into construction.

Projects to Watch:

• Sunda-Asri CCS (Indonesia): Licence requested for saline aquifer storage; targeting 2.5 mtpa injection by 2030 with a 180 km pipeline, onshore terminal and offshore injection wells.

• Arthit Offshore Gas Field CCS (Thailand): FID achieved in September 2025 and now progressing toward implementation.

• Abadi CCS (Indonesia): FEED awarded in August 2025 alongside the FPSO scope; EPC award

pending between two major consortium bidders.

• Offshore Central Luconia CCS (Malaysia): PETROS and Woodside Energy have signed a Storage Study Agreement to assess carbon storage feasibility at Site 3A under the Sarawak Bid Round 2024.
