With annual gifts of $10,000 or more, Tocqueville Society members are an exceptional group of community leaders who share a responsibility to give back. By combining their contributions, they strengthen a network of care that stands with families through every challenge and creates impact no single effort could achieve on its own.

When you choose to join the Tocqueville Society, the most effective way to put your investment to work is by directing your gift to United Way of the Midlands’ Community Impact Fund. This comprehensive gift is how UWM can make your donation go even further because it will:
Align giving with the areas of greatest need and the most impactful local programs
Connect a range of services at a scale no single program could reach alone
Keep essential services within reach for thousands of families across our community
Combine with other Tocqueville investments to unlock a $1.6 million match from Mr. Warren Buffett when we reach 400 annual members — amplifying your impact across our community.

Inspired by Alexis de Tocqueville’s admiration for the American spirit of civic engagement, the Tocqueville Society at United Way of the Midlands recognizes individuals who lead through generosity and care for their community. Established by a small group of visionary donors in Omaha in 1987, this society has now grown to more than 400 members. Since its inception, Tocqueville Society members have surpassed $150 million in total giving.
