March-born individuals are known for their creativity, confidence, and fresh spring energy. They often bring optimism and bold ideas wherever they go.
I D Y O U K N O W ? DID
In the original Roman calendar, March was the First Month. January & February didn’t even exist.
It’s named after Mars, the Roman god of war. The old NewYear began around the spring equinox - a time symbolizing rebirth and new beginnings.
February brought a few unexpected surprises! When Florida decided to briefly participate in winter, we unfortunately lost our seasonal flowers. Our maintenance team has been hard at work preparing the community for spring They’ve been applying weed prevention treatments, refreshing landscaping areas, and giving extra attention to cleaning and tidying our common spaces. Their proactive efforts now will help ensure our grounds look beautiful and vibrant in the months ahead.

The speed limit in the park is 15 miles per hour! We have many more walkers, dog walkers, and bicyclists in the park, so please slow down and help everyone stay safe! If you are walking during dark hours, please wear light-colored, reflective clothing and carry a flashlight

There’s no street parking in Whispering Pines unless such parking is for short-term purposes of one (1) hour or less We must keep our streets open for our homeowners to get assistance from emergency vehicles at all times Please ensure that contractors working at your home leave room for vehicles to pass Clubhouse parking areas are for residents using those facilities, not for overflow guest parking. Others are subject to being towed unless a parking pass has been obtained from the manager There is no parking in the white striped areas at the clubhouse, and do not block resident driveways
The pool is for the private use of residents and registered guests only Smoking and alcohol are not allowed in the pool area at any time The pool closes at dusk and the gates are locked.

All prospective buyers need to complete the background application before any final sale and receive approval from our Corporate Office. The office must be notified of any sale before it is final, regardless of whether they are past or current residents Community paperwork must be completed All sales will have a 4-sided inspection completed through our Corporate Office to ensure buyers agree to any rule compliance issues
Residents are responsible for keeping their flowerbeds, bushes, etc. weeded all year long. Make sure that landscaping in your lot is manageable for you

Guests must be registered in the office, and pool passes are required for your guests

Please bring in your pet’s current shot records, as we are updating this information Pets need to be leashed, attended, and cleaned up after If you would like your pet featured in the newsletter as Pet of the Month, please send a current photo to the office with a bit of info about your pet

Equipment

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with this festive Classic Corned Beef and Cabbage!
Prep Time 20 minutes | Cook Time 3 h
Large Dutch oven Saucepan
Ingredients
1 corned beef brisket about 4 lbs.
1 corned beef spice packet
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 bay leaves
1 medium brown onion sliced
4 garlic cloves peeled
4 lbs small red or yellow potatoes
8 large carrots peeled
1 medium head of cabbage cut into wedges
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1 /2 cup grainy mustard for serving Horseradish Sauce:
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup reserved corned beef cooking liquid
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
1 /2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 /4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Place the corned beef in a large Dutch oven, along with the contents of the spice packet included in the corned beef, brown sugar, bay leaves, onion, and garlic. Fill with enough cold water to cover the beef. Bring to a boil over high heat, lower the flame, cover and simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is tender. Use a slotted spoon to remove and discard the onions and garlic (they’ve done their job and have given all their flavor already)

Peel the potatoes, I use red potatoes and peel only the center because I like the look of it, but feel free to peel all of it or don’t peel at all Cut the carrots into large chunks Place the potatoes and carrots into the pot with the brisket. Return to a boil over high heat and then reduce heat and simmer until fork tender, about 30 to 40 minutes. It depends on how big your potatoes are.

Transfer the potatoes and carrots to a platter and keep warm. Add in the sliced cabbage, I like to keep the core in the cabbage so that the sliced wedges stay intact, making it easier to move later. Bring back up to a boil over high heat. Lower the flame and simmer for 15 minutes until the cabbage is tender as well. Transfer the cabbage to the platter along with the potatoes and carrots and move the brisket to a cutting board. Cover loosely with foil and allow to rest for 10 minutes before thinly slicing against the grain. Arrange the sliced beef along with the vegetables on the platter. Sprinkle with parsley and serve with grainy mustard and horseradish sauce (recipe follows).

To make the sauce, set a medium saucepan over moderate heat with the butter. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for about 30 seconds or so. Slowly whisk in 1 cup of the liquid that the beef cooked inches Cook, stirring often, until thickened, about 10 to 12 minutes. Stir in the sugar, vinegar, horseradish, salt and pepper. Enjoy!
