MANAGER’S CORNER,

Welcome spring

Here are some facts about March

March, named after the Roman god of war, Mars, was originally the first month of the year in the Roman calendar. Known for the vernal equinox—marking the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere—this month brings the {“aquamarine”} {“https://www. communityhondalafayette.com/fun-facts-aboutmarch/”} and bloodstone birthstones. March also features the “Ides of March” (March 15th), the founding of the Peace Corps, and the first telephone call in 1876.

Each year for Saint Patrick’s Day, Chicago famously dyes a portion of the Chicago River a brilliant shade of emerald green using an environmentally friendly, vegetable-based powder, a tradition started in 1962 by local plumbers to trace pollution. The spectacle attracts massive crowds to the downtown area to watch the transformation.

Rules: The rules for Sudoku are simple. A 9×9 square must be filled in with numbers from 1-9 with no repeated numbers in each line, horizontally or vertically.

RESIDENT-CENTRIC NEWS

As we prepare for the spring season, we will be conducting community-wide lot inspections throughout March. The goal of these inspections is to keep our community safe, clean, and looking its best. The weeds must be removed. Please take time to ensure your yard and exterior areas are tidy and free of debris. As a reminder, tires are not permitted to be stored on your property. We appreciate your help in maintaining our community. If you have any questions or need to make arrangements, please contact the office.

We are reaching out to remind all residents that we are still experiencing significant issues with uncollected dog waste within our community dog park and throughout our shared common areas. This park is a vital amenity intended for the enjoyment of everyone in the community, and maintaining its cleanliness is a collective responsibility. Please be diligent in picking up after your pets to ensure our neighborhood remains sanitary and welcoming for all neighbors and their companions. If you are caught not picking up your dog waste, there will be a $50.00 fine!

Recipe of the Month

Creamy Steak Pasta Garlic

Tender steak and pasta tossed in creamy garlic parmesan sauce for pure comfort.

Prep duration: 15 min / Cook duration: 25 min / Overall duration: 40 min Ingredients

• Pasta (12 ounces fettuccine or penne pasta)

• Protein (1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak, thinly sliced)

• Seasonings (Salt, to taste, black pepper, to taste, 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional)

• Sauce and Aromatics (1 tablespoon olive oil)

• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

• 4 cloves garlic, minced

• 1/2 cup beef broth

• 1 cup heavy cream

• 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

• Garnish (Fresh parsley, chopped)

• Additional grated parmesan cheese, optional

Directions

01 - Boil pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions. Drain well and reserve 1/2 cup of the cooking water.

02 - Season steak slices generously with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and sear the steak pieces until browned and cooked to desired doneness, about 2–3 minutes per side. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.

03 - Lower heat to medium and add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until aromatic.

Expert Advice

01

• Quick enough for busy nights yet special enough for guests

• Flexible on cuts of steak and pasta shapes to fit your pantry

• Restaurant flavor without the high price tag

02

• High in protein and calcium which makes it both satisfying and gently energizing

• Pasta water is the secret to a glossy sauce that clings just right

• Freezes well but is best enjoyed fresh for the creamiest texture

04 - Deglaze the skillet by pouring in beef broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom. Simmer for 2 minutes.

05 - Add heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir regularly and simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens. Stir in crushed red pepper flakes if desired.

06 - Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. If needed, incorporate reserved pasta water to adjust sauce consistency. Return cooked steak to skillet and gently combine.

07 - Serve immediately, topped with chopped fresh parsley and extra grated parmesan if desired

03

• Slicing steak against the grain after cooking helps keep every bite tender

• Letting sauce simmer gently ensures the cream does not break

• Grate your own parmesan straight over the pan for a nutty intense flavor
