SEASON BROCHURE
JANJUL 2026

As we open the doors to a brand-new season at Hull Truck Theatre, our stages will be alive with stories that challenge, entertain, and bring our community together a true reflection of the creativity and spirit that makes Hull Truck Theatre so special.
We’re delighted to announce that we’re going to be embarking on a new three-year partnership with local telecommunications service provider KCOM. KCOM will be joining us as a Principal Partner, and we can’t wait to have them on board. Watch this space for more details about what the partnership will entail!
At the centre of our season is one of the greatest plays ever written Macbeth. This gripping new production set in a contemporary war zone promises to be a thrilling new take on Shakespeare’s dark tragedy, exploring the consequences of unchecked ambition. Alongside Macbeth, we’re proud to present an exciting line-up of dramatic storytelling that showcases the breadth of theatre being made today. John Godber’s classic Teechers returns – as funny as ever, shining a light on education, aspiration, and the power of performance. Then, step into the luxurious intrigue of The Grand Babylon Hotel, a stylish adaptation by Deborah McAndrew who adapted our Christmas production of Oliver Twist, it is brimming with secrets, scandal, and plenty of slapstick, the production has been wowing audiences and getting great reviews.
Battersea Arts Centre’s Pied Piper is also a must-see for the season! A musical reimagining full of rhythm, rhyme, and rebellion that will have families dancing in their seats! Together, these productions demonstrate the power of theatre to confront, question, and inspire change.
We all need a good laugh and a reason to share joyful experiences together, and this season offers plenty. With Sara Pascoe, Jen Brister and Marc Burrows keeping adults entertained and Great Adventures, Zog and The Gruffalo’s Child inviting younger audiences on a journey of discovery filled with fun and imagination. The Wizard of Oz, Grease and The Addams Family are also fantastic family favourites.
As always, we’re proud to continue celebrating the incredible diversity of stories and voices that make up our community. Keep an eye out for the rainbow flags throughout this brochure, marking our Pride Season productions a celebration of queer stories, artists, and allies. These performances are a vital part of our commitment to representing everyone on our stages and ensuring that all who come through our doors feel seen, welcomed, and inspired.
Whether you’re drawn to the dark allure of Macbeth, the laughter of Teechers, the intrigue of The Grand Babylon Hotel, or the family joy of The Gruffalo’s Child, there’s something here for everyone. We can’t wait to share this season with you.
